[Scene opens on the Gun Room. Fei and Bart are at the top of the stairs. Fei heads back to the engine room. Scene change.]

[Scene opens on the engine room. Fei goes up and talks to the mechanic.]

MECHANIC
I've been working on these engines for many long years...
But I can't figure out why high energy plasma is produced in the Slave Generators...
Actually nobody knows the generators' mechanism of either ships or Gears.
But perhaps that Solaris may know what Slave Generators really are...

[Fei and Bart head for the men's room. Scene change.]

[Scene opens on the men's quarters. Fei walks over to Hammer.]

HAMMER
"Typical of a Solarian... We'll never know what Elly'll do next..."

[Rico turns around.]

RICO
"Hammer, you rat!
I'll crush your head if you ever say that again!!"

[Hammer turns to Rico.]

HAMMER
"S, s, sorry!! Pleeze forgive me...!!"

[Fei walks over to Rico.]

RICO
"Do what you need to do. It's none of my business."

[Fei and Bart head back to the Gun Room. Scene change.]

[Scene opens on the Gun Room. Maison is in his usual spot.]

MAISON
"Miss Elly... What kind of spell was used on her?"

[Maison stops himself.]

MAISON
"How may I be of service?"
[Fei buys stuff.]

MAISON
"I hope I can be of such service again!"

[Fei and Bart go to the bridge. Scene change.]

[Scene opens on the bridge. Fei and Bart walk over to Sigurd.]

SIGURD
"How careless of me. I never thought Elly would do a thing like that...
Why don't you go and see how she is, Fei?"

[Fei and Bart head for Margie's room. Scene change.]

[Scene opens in Margie's Room. Fei goes over to Chu-Chu.]

CHU-CHU
"If I break something, Fei will comfort me, right? So what should I break?"

[Fei walks over to Margie.]

MARGIE
"Fei, go to Elly. You should be there for her in times like this."

CHU-CHU
"Don't chu want Chu-Chu to go with you chu?"

[Margie turns to Chu-Chu.]

MARGIE
"You stay here!"

[The duo leave and go to the infirmary. Scene change.]

[Scene opens on the infirmary. Fei walks over to the nurse. Citan is with Elly, who's sitting up on the edge of the bed.]

NURSE
Elly... Is she alright?

[Fei walks to Citan.]

CITAN
"She was able to get up just now."

[Fei walks to Elly. Fei and Bart walk a few steps back. Camera pan to behind Bart on the side.]

ELLY
"I, I... How in the world did I get here?"

FEI
"Elly..."

[Camera pan to behind Elly on the side. Sigurd enters the room as the camera pans.]

SIGURD
"Young master, the radar has picked up a huge Gear! It's headed right for us!"

BART
"What!? Them again!?"

SIGURD
"That shape looks like...!"

BART
"Alright! I owe so much to the Thames. I can't let it turn into a battlefield.
Launch the Yggdrasil immediately! We'll go out in our Gears!"

SIGURD
Yes, sir!!

[Sigurd leaves. Bart turns to Citan.]

BART
"Fei, Citan, I'm counting on you!"

ELLY
Wait!!

[Everyone turns to Elly.]

CITAN
"Elly should rest here. We will..."

[Elly gets up, turns to Citan and shakes her head emphatically.]

ELLY
"Wait!! Because I came here this all happened...
This is my responsibility! So... So let me go too!"

FEI
Elly...?

[Bart shakes his head slowly.]

BART
"What the hell are you talking about!
Don't you remember what you just did...!?"

[Citan turns to Bart.]

CITAN
Young one!

[Citan turns to Elly and folds his arms.]

CITAN
"Elly, our trust in you depends on this battle.
For your honor, you should fight!"

[Bart turns to Citan.]

BART
"But Citan! I...!"

[Citan turns to Bart, arms still folded.]

CITAN
"Young one, please trust Elly this time."

[Citan turns back to Elly, arms still folded.]

CITAN
"Elly, if you try anything suspicious, I will be the one to shoot you.
Is that clear?"

[Elly nods.]

ELLY
Yes.

[Citan turns to Bart, arms still folded.]

CITAN
"Is that okay with you, young one?"

[Bart nods, turns to Elly, and folds his arms. (What is this, an arm-folding contest? :P)]

BART
"... Alright. Fei, Elly, let's go!!"

[Elly and Fei turn to Bart and nod.]

ELLY
Yes!

FEI
Yeah!!

[Camera pan up away from the room. Scene fade. Stop music.]

[Scene opens in Dominia's cockpit, at a distance. It is trembling rather noticably.]

DOMINIA
"If you hadn't..."

[Scene cut to in front of Bladegash, Dominia's Gear, a purple double thruster-equipped behemoth, for a half second. Cut back to the cockpit, slightly closer.]

DOMINIA
"... been around..."

[Scene cut to in front of Bladegash for a second. Cut back to the cockpit, a little closer to Dominia.]

DOMINIA
"I'll never forgive you..."

[Scene cut to in front of Bladegash for two seconds. Cut back to the cockpit, closer to Dominia.]

DOMINIA
"You..."

[Scene cut to in front of Bladegash as a weapon begins to open in front of the Gear. Fade/switch to Dominia's cockpit, closeup.]

DOMINIA
"TRAITOR!!"

[Camera pan into Dominia. Scene change.]

[Begin music: "The Steel Giant"]

[Scene opens on the front of the Yggdrasil, now over water by itself, away from the Thames. Brigandier stands in front, flanked by Weltall and Vierge.]

BART
"Here they come!"

ELLY
"Hey, that's..."

[Camera pan back and up as Bladegash flies in from the sky in front of camera, its jets on full throttle.]

[Battle: Weltall/Vierge/Brigandier vs. Bladegash]

[Stop music.]

[Scene opens on top of the Yggdrasil. Camera above and in front of the ship. Brigandier turns to his allies.]

BART
"... Whew. She doesn't know when to quit."

[Begin music: "Knight of Fire"]

[A spout goes off on the port side of the ship. Camera pan around to in front of Vierge's side.]

ELLY
"Wh-what?"

[Weltall turns to the port side.]

FEI
"Below!"

[Weltall jumps into the water on the port side.]

BART
"Is it what I think it is?"

[Brigandier jumps in after Weltall.]

ELLY
"..."

[Vierge jumps into the water on the starboard side.]

[----Battle mode----]

[Scene opens in front of Miang's Gear, directly beside her. The Haishao is behind her on her side.]

RAMSUS
"Miang, is that him?"

MIANG
"Yes, he's in the black Gear in the center there."

RAMSUS
"Right. I've got him!"

[Scene cut to underneath the Haishao. Pan out quickly to Weltall.]

RAMSUS
"I have been looking for you! My arch rival!!"

FEI
"Uh! You again!?"

[Scene cut to behind Weltall, facing the Haishao. Miang's Gear is on the side.]

RAMSUS
"... I see you have a different machine...
So, what happened to your 'other Gear'!?"

FEI
"What are you talking about!?"

RAMSUS
"Not to matter...
At any rate, until I eliminate you, there will never be any 'light' for me!!"

[Battle: Weltall/Vierge/Brigandier vs. Haishao (Miang's Gear)]

[Scene cut to directly in front of the Haishao's side. The Haishao shudders and flashes.]

RAMSUS
"Tch! Is that all you have to give!!
Well too bad! No matter what... I can't let you live!"

[Scene cut to behind Weltall. The Haishao glides directly up to it. It then rears back and knocks Weltall on its back with the right claw as it detaches. Weltall gets back to its feet. The Haishao rears back and hits Weltall with its left claw, knocking it on its back again. That claw also detaches. Weltall gets back to its feet. The claw hits Weltall again on its boomerang cycle, knocking it over again. Weltall gets up again. The other claw hits Weltall again, knocking it over yet again. Weltall gets back to its feet. A low-pitched alarm begins to sound. Weltall falls over on its back.]

FEI
"Uuaaaaahhhhh!"

[Scene cut to POV of Weltall's cockpit. A message begins reading as the claws reattach to Haishao outside.]

NOTICE
>Armor breach Water flooding cockpit Pilot's vital signs are declining...

[The Haishao backs up. Stop alarm. Scene cut to shot of Weltall lying against black background, still in Gear POV mode. The Gear POV fades off screen. Camera pan up to the Haishao, with Miang's Gear in the distance.]

RAMSUS
"And now for the 'coup de grace'!!"

[Scene cut to a distance away from Vierge. Pan in close to under its head, fast.]

ELLY
"Fei!!"

[Three shudders and flashes eminate from Vierge. Pan back to shot of battlefield from behind Vierge. Scene cut to behind Vierge on opposite side. It rears back and then pulls both its arms and legs foward. Aerods fly out of Vierge. Scene cut to in front of Vierge. Pan across Brigandier in foreground immediately to Vierge on the side. It floats with a leg up and then moves its head forward. The aerods take off above Vierge. Scene cut to full shot of battlefield behind Vierge again as the Aerods fly above Haishao. Scene cut to a shot from in front of the Haishao's POV as an aerod explodes. Scene cut to the sea floor as another explodes. Scene cut to between Vierge and Miang's Gear as another aerod explodes. Scene cut to shot of an aerod exploding. Scene cut to directly behind Vierge as the Aerods land in front of Haishao and explode in an Ether bomb, illuminating in a green spherical flash. Fade green. Vierge goes back to its original position. Camera pan to behind Vierge's side, full shot of battlefield. Scene cut to beside Miang's Gear with the Haishao behind it.]

RAMSUS
"Wh, what!? Aerods!? Who the...!?"

[The Haishao shudders and flashes twice.]

RAMSUS
"!! Uuuooohhhh!"

[Scene cut to shot of Weltall's chest and legs lying against black background. Begin low-pitched alarm again.]

RAMSUS
"Tch! My main tank... I almost had him!
Dammit! ... We have to retreat, Miang!"

[Camera pan around Weltall 180 super-fast, revealing the sea floor. Keep panning to behind Vierge's side.]

ELLY
"Fei!!"

[Scene fade. Stop music.]

[----End battle mode----]

[Scene opens in front of the sick bay window in the Thames. Citan is in front of the window, thinking. Bart is behind him, facing to the right. The doctor from the ship is talking to Citan.]

DOCTOR
"... I don't know. But for now he's on life support......"

[Begin music: "Lost and Broken Heart"]

CITAN
"... You mean... He will be alright...?"

DOCTOR
"... I gurantee nothing. I don't know why he's like this in the first place."

BART
"..."

[Camera pan to the right slowly to the next window to reveal Elly sitting next to a bed. Fei's head is next to the window, obscured, so all that is seen is his feet.]

ELLY
"... My fault? ... I..."

DOCTOR
"... Then there is hope... at the infirmary in the 'Ethos' headquarters."

[Elly gets off her seat and walks a step towards the window.]

ELLY
!

[Scene cut to behind Fei, who is unconscious on the bed. Elly is turned away from him, away from camera. Elly turns to Fei and then runs out of the chamber as the camera pans up and right to reveal the others standing on the opposite side of the hospital drapes. Elly stops in front of the doctor. Camera stop panning above the drapes when Bart comes into full view.]

ELLY
"Fei... Can you save Fei?"

DOCTOR
"I cannot gurantee it. But if we were to take him to the 'Ethos' headquarters' hospital..."

ELLY
"Then could we save him?"

DOCTOR
"I think then that he would most probably pull through alright...
But unfortunately, ordinary citizens are only allowed into the main hall at the 'Ethos' headquarters.
You would have to become a monk, or be introduced by someone in the 'Ethos'..."

[The doctor turns to the side.]

ELLY
"..."

[The doctor turns back.]

DOCTOR
"Ah, I just remembered.
I heard that the Etone, -'atoners of sin'-, are coming to Thames from the 'Ethos' H.Q...."

[Citan turns to the doctor.]

CITAN
"What purpose do such Etone from the 'Ethos' have here?"

DOCTOR
"They're coming here to do some type of investigation."

BART
"Etone... what are they?"

[The doctor turns to Bart.]

DOCTOR
"They are religious people from the 'Ethos', who cleanse away the 'Reapers' or -Wels- that appear here in Aquvy."

ELLY
"So why don't we ask them?"

[The doctor turns to Elly.]

DOCTOR
"I'll ask them if they can help us, but I don't know if they will...
I guess there is no harm in asking though..."

ELLY
"Alright. Let's go look for them."

CITAN
"I will go with Fei and the life support machines to the Yggdrasil.
Bart and Elly, you two go look for the Etone."

BART
"... Right."

[Scene fade.]

[Begin music: "Thames, Man of the Sea"]

[Scene opens in the sick bay. Elly and Bart head up to the bridge. Scene change.]

[Scene opens on the bridge. Elly and Bart walk up to the captain.]

CAPTAIN
"The Etones? Oh, those guys who were here earlier...
They left saying they had to go investigate something. They might be on the deck near the supply entrance."

[Elly and Bart head for the armor ground on the Thames' deck. Scene change. Stop music.]

[Scene opens at the front of the armor ground. Margie is talking to one of the deck workers as Elly and Bart walk in.]

WORKER
Etone? I saw him earlier but he left.

[Bart and Elly walk up behind Margie.]

MARGIE
"Really? Where'd they go?"

WORKER
I don't know...

BART
"What're you doing Margie?"

[Margie turns around.]

MARGIE
"Hi, Bart. I just heard from Citan. I also was looking for that Etone.
This person's seen that Etone before."

BART
"Really?"

VOICE
Hey, quit resistin'!!

[Stop all sounds. Elly turns towards the voice.]

[Begin music: "Fuse"]

ELLY
"Bart!! Look!!"

[Bart turns. Camera pan slowly to the opposite side of the armor ground, where two thugs are accosting a young girl with white hair and strange red eyes from both sides.]

THUG 1
If you wouldn't resist I could sell you for more.

[The girl struggles frantically. Elly runs in from the right.]

ELLY
"What are you doing?"

[Thug 1 turns to Elly.]

THUG 1
What the? Who are you?

[Thug 2 turns to Elly.]

THUG 2
Instead of the brat why don't I sell you off?

[Bart walks in with Margie behind him.]

BART
"What! You want some!? Come get some ya losers!"

[Thug 2 turns to Bart.]

THUG 2
You think you're all that?

[Stop music. A shot is heard and Thug 1 is knocked several feet across the scene.]

THUG 1
Wha!

[The girl has an open path and runs to Elly, who kneels in front of her. Thug 2 turns towards the source of the sound.]

THUG 2
What the!?

[Camera pan back and to the right to reveal an older man with gray hair, a bandit mask under his neck, and he's also brandishing a shotgun on his shoulder. Camera pan in closer and center in front of him as he laughs slowly. He sheathes his shotgun and walks towards the group. Camera pan with him to the side. The two thugs walk a couple steps towards him.]

THUG 2
You! What're you doing?

[Thug 1 turns to Thug 2.]

THUG 1
Wait, this guy's...

[Thug 2 backs up a step.]

THUG 2
Oh no... Jesiah!!

[The two thugs turn and look at each other. After a second, they flee quickly.]

THUG 1
Damn, I'll remember this!

[Jesiah turns to see Elly and the girl. He walks up behind Elly and points his shotgun at the back of her head.]

BART
"What do you think you're doing?"

JESIAH
"Don't move."

MARGIE
"Wa, wait..."

JESIAH
"Shut up, you dog of Solaris."

ELLY
"..."

VOICE
Wait!!

[Citan runs in behind Jesiah.]

CITAN
"A carbine rifle, that gun technique, you must be Jesiah.
No Jesiah, you are misunderstanding.
You always rush into things. She was only helping the girl."

JESIAH
"What? Butt kissin' talker, is that you Hyuga..."

[The girl walks in front of Jesiah.]

GIRL
"..."

[Jesiah sheathes his gun and turns to the girl.]

JESIAH
"Yeah yeah, I know, Primera. My misunderstanding."

[Jesiah turns to Elly, who's still kneeling.]

JESIAH
"Sorry, young lady. Please, stand up."

[Elly stands up and turns around.]

JESIAH
"Looks like you were just trying to help. That's what she says.
Sorry about the misunderstanding. This is Primera. My daughter.
I am... Call me Jessie. It's enough that the little brats call me Jesiah."

[Primera turns to Elly.]

PRIMERA
"..."

[Elly turns to Primera.]

ELLY
"?"

JESSIE
"She says thank you.
Something happened to her and she hasn't spoken since then."

CITAN
"... Is this the girl that brought about your shotgun wedding?"

[Jessie turns to Citan.]

JESSIE
"That's a damn rude thing to ask! Look at how old she is.
Primera is my second child. That other kid is already 16."

CITAN
"Please excuse me. How is your wife?"

JESSIE
"... She's dead. I wasn't even there for her when she died."

CITAN
"I see... What are you doing here?"

JESSIE
"I have to go shopping sometime.
Besides my son has some unsavory business in this area..."

[The deck worker from before walks up behind Margie's side.]

WORKER
Ah... That Etone you were looking for has just arrived.

[Bart turns around to the worker.]

BART
"What!? Where?"

[Camera pan to reveal the ship's doctor and an Etone walking into the armor ground. Scene fade as the camera pans.]

[Begin music: "The Ship of Regret and Sleep"]

[Scene opens on the armor ground. Margie, Bart, Elly and Citan face the ship's doctor and the Etone, who's dressed in a dark green Ethos robe with white hair and green eyes. Camera behind the 'familiar' group. The doctor turns to the Etone.]

DOCTOR
"...... is the reason why, so somehow, we need your help."

ETONE
"I see......"

JESSIE
"Quit beating 'round the bush and just help."

[Jessie walks in. Citan moves one step to the side as Jessie takes his place. Primera tails him. Camera pan in closer to the group.]

ETONE
"Fa, father? And Prim too?"

[Jessie turns to Elly.]

JESSIE
"This is my son Billy."

BILLY
"Where have you been until now?
Things are pretty serious at the headquarters."

[Jessie turns to Billy.]

JESSIE
"What do you mean serious?
What's wrong with going out shopping with my daughter?"

BILLY
"I don't know the details but you have been labeled as an undesirable element.
What did you do this time? Fight? Gamble? Go after someone's wife again!?"

JESSIE
"Hmmph, that's just a rumor about me. A rumor.
Don't you believe that. Ever since you went into the 'Ethos' you've become such a stiff."

BILLY
"..."

JESSIE
"This lady prevented Primera from getting kidnapped.
Why don't you just help out?"

[Elly takes a small step up.]

ELLY
"Well... can we get an introduction to the 'Ethos' then?"

BILLY
"Oh yes, please excuse my rudeness. I didn't know you saved my sister.
Let me contact the medical department at my headquarters.
I have other matters I must attend to, considering I am not only a priest but also an Etone...
So I cannot make any promises."

ELLY
"Then you'll introduce us?"

BILLY
"Yes. Let's stop by the 'Ethos' headquarters after this."

[Margie turns to the group a bit.]

MARGIE
"Hmm. A priest and an Etone at the same time... Isn't that unusual?
The 'Ethos' is obviously very different from my Nisan Sect."

[Billy turns to Margie.]

BILLY
"Your Nisan Sect? Are you from Nisan?"

[Margie walks up to in front of Billy a few feet.]

MARGIE
"Yep, I'm Marguerite. Nice to meet you, Father."

[Billy takes a step towards Margie.]

BILLY
"The pleasure is mine.
I've never had a proper chance to speak to others about their religions. Can we talk later?"

MARGIE
"Sure, that's fine.
But I can't take that much time. I'm a little busy now."

BILLY
"Thank you.
Hmm... Marguerite? Where have I heard that name before?"

[Bart walks up in front of Margie, who backs up a step.]

BART
"Forget about it, relax...
I came here to talk to the 'Ethos'. Let's get moving."

[Billy turns to Bart.]

BILLY
"What an impolite fellow.
You should learn how to speak a little more politely."

[Bart looks at Billy.]

BART
"Why you!"

[Billy turns to Margie.]

BILLY
"Well everyone,
I'll go tell the 'Ethos' headquarters that you're coming.
When you've taken care of business here, please come by the 'Ethos'."

BART
"I know, I know. Let's go."

[Jessie walks up to beside Bart and turns to Billy.]

JESSIE
"Hey Billy, I have some business to take care of.
If you're going back to the headquarters can you take Primera back to the brat house for me?"

BILLY
"...... Alright. Let's go, Prim."

[Billy leaves. Primera walks up between Citan, Elly and Jessie and looks at them. Then she follows Billy and leaves. Jessie turns to Citan.]

JESSIE
"Alright, well, I've got to get going.
Later, Hyuga. I know I'll be seein' you around."

[Everyone turns to Jessie.]

CITAN
"Uh, who knows."

[Jessie turns to Elly.]

JESSIE
"Well, whatever. See you ladies later."

[Jessie leaves in the opposite direction. Citan turns around and watches him.]

CITAN
"He never changes..."

[Citan walks closer to the group.]

CITAN
"Sigurd said he would be done with the Yggdrasil soon."

[Bart turns to Citan.]

BART
"What, really? Alright, this time we can really leave port."

[Elly turns to Bart.]

ELLY
"Are we returning... to Aveh?"

[Bart turns to Elly.]

BART
"Are you kidding? We've got to take care of Fei first.
That smart aleck kid said he'd introduce us to the 'Ethos'.
So I guess we'll just have to go to the 'Ethos' headquarters then..."

[Elly turns away towards Margie and nods.]

ELLY
"... Thank you."

[Bart turns around.]

BART
"Why do I have to get thanked by you?"

[Margie turns to Elly.]

MARGIE
"Heh, that's right, Elly."

[Elly turns away from Bart and nods.]

ELLY
"... Yes, you're right."

[Scene change.]

[Begin music: "Thames, Man of the Sea"]

[Scene opens on the deck of the Thames. Elly, Bart and Citan go up to the bridge. Scene change.]

[Scene opens on the bridge. Elly goes to the captain.]

CAPTAIN
"Feel free to come back to Thames anytime.
There's always room at our dock for your ship."

[Elly & Co. leave the Thames and go to the Yggdrasil. Scene change.]

[Scene opens on the Yggdrasil. Elly & Co. go to Margie's room. Scene change.]

[Elly walks up to Chu-Chu.]

CHU-CHU
"Fei is sleeping now chu? He is suchu a sleepyhead."

[Elly goes to Margie.]

MARGIE
"I'm glad we've met up with such nice people.
Anyway, I'd better hurry and get back to my church!"

[Margie ponders.]

MARGIE
"I'm not good enough to fight with Bart and his comrades...
But I can be a manager! Let me know when you want to change party members!"

[Elly & Co. leave and go to the Gun Room. Maison is in his usual spot.]

MAISON
"Miss Elly... and then Master Fei...
Why do we continue to have misfortunes like this?"

[Maison stops.]

MAISON
"How may I be of service?"
[Elly buys some stuff.]

MAISON
"I hope I can be of such service again!"

[Elly and her group head for the men's quarters. Scene change.]

[Scene opens on the men's room. Hammer is there.]

HAMMER
"My bro's unconscious? Are you serious?
Who's the enemy that could beat the Battling Champ...?"

[Elly heads for the engine room. Scene change.]

[Scene opens on the engine room. Elly goes to see the mechanic.]

MECHANIC
The coil'll break if the toroid is cooled down suddenly... It's big, but it's delicate...

ELLY
"Chief... I'm very sorry. I..."

MECHANIC
That's alright. Everybody makes mistakes.
I don't find it a problem with young people making mistakes!

[The mechanic turns around and makes some wild gestures away from Elly.]

MECHANIC
(But, if you do it again, you're gonna be in deep...!)

[As Elly is leaving, she picks up the engineers having a conversation.]

ENGINEER 1
The chief has a weakness for young women.

ENGINEER 2
W, what! It's expected for a man to be kind to women, isn't it!?

[Engineer 1 turns around.]

ENGINEER 1
(Grrr!! But you're cold to your own wife!!)

[Elly and her friends leave and go to the Yggdrasil's bridge. Scene change.]

[Scene opens on the bridge. Elly goes up to Sigurd.]

SIGURD
"It appears the 'Ethos' headquarters is located to the north of the Thames.
We must hurry up and take Fei there..."

[Sigurd stops.]

SIGURD
"We're currently anchored at the Thames..."
[Leave Thames.]

[Sigurd pauses.]

SIGURD
"So this is your first time to see our new Yggdrasil II...
Let me show you our reborn vessel's improved performance!"

[Scene fade. Stop music.]
