Part 18
Chapter 44: Into Solaris
Compiled by
[Camera opens in rotating mode over ocean next to a beach. As the camera rotates, a very faint black transparent column appears sticking out of the water. A shape begins to take place. Camera stop rotating when land area comes back into sight. The column sparkles slightly. The whole sky suddenly distorts and the area distortion turns pink and then white. Then, just like a television set turning on, a huge tower-shaped structure comes into view sticking out of the water. The distortion begins to subside gradually, until the tower appears to just have a bunch of static around it. Scene fade.]

[Scene opens on sky above the clouds. Pan down to the very top of the tower.]
[Begin music: "Jaws of Ice"]
[Camera pan and turn upwards as it continues to descend the tower, turning to face the sky. The tower almost reaches space. Begin to pan back and away as the bottom of the tower, a circular area, nears. The thing is shaped like a blimp facing upwards, almost. The blimp opens from the bottom and sections of the object spread out in all directions and begin to rotate around the top center. Camera pan in towards the top center. A very thin pole is holding up the center. Camera turn back to normal shot and begin to pan away up and to the left past the top center outside the rotating sides. The sides stretch out to half-horizontal. Pan back further up and to the left as the sides continue to rise and become horizontal with some protrusions at the top pointing skyward and out. Stop pan at horizontal. The sides continue to fly up until they also point upwards and outwards. Then they stop and lock into place. A metal shift is heard, followed by a strange repetitive sound. Scene fade. Stop music.]

[Scene opens in Zephyr's chamber in Shevat. The whole group is there plus Emeralda, this time. Camera above and behind Fei at a distance.]
[Begin music: "Shevat, the Wind is Calling"]
ZEPHYR
We are finally able to locate and see Solaris after destroying the
3 Gates on the surface.
However, unless we destroy the final main generator
on the Solaris homeland...
... we cannot completely wipe out their Gate.
[Citan looks down thinking.]
CITAN
"Maria, this is where you and Seibzehn come in.
Now that the Gate
is weakened, we can use Seibzehn's heavy particle cannon...
... to distort
space and neutralize the Gate for a brief moment!
Upon penetrating into
Solaris, it would be best to move about...
... in small groups so that we do
not attract attention.
Well, if possible I would like to..."
[Elly nods.]
ELLY
"Yes... I can guide you... through Solaris..."
[Fei nods.]
FEI
"I'll go too. I'm a little concerned if it's Elly."
[Elly turns to Fei.]
ELLY
"What are you...? Wait, I didn't mean it like..."
[Citan looks up.]
CITAN
"Understood!
Then Elly, Fei, and I will move about
together.
The rest will form a separate group to sneak in.
Maria, it looks
like you and Seibzehn will wait outside on standby."
[Maria turns to Citan and nods.]
MARIA
"Fine... I understand."
CITAN
"Well, let us break up for now.
Once you are all ready, we should
all meet here before we take off..."
[Stop music. Scene change.]
[Scene opens on the Palace tower on top of Shevat, outside. Camera behind Citan and Yui, who are looking out the tower.]
[Begin music: "The Treasure that Cannot be Stolen"]
YUI
"You're going aren't you... To Solaris..."
[Citan nods.]
CITAN
"Yes... I have chosen my own path.
There is no turning
back..."
YUI
"You will be hurt... They will also be hurt..."
CITAN
"Indeed... But I could not find any other path to choose...
If I
happen to be overcome by the dark side... At that point, I have already..."
[Yui nods.]
YUI
"Don't say anything more. I already know..."
[Yui walks up closer and turns to Citan more directly.]
YUI
"Now, here. This is your sword...
Please... Please come back
alive!"
[Citan turns to Yui and nods.]
CITAN
"Then you too... Please take care of Midori."
[Yui walks up close to Citan and nods. Camera pan up to the top of the tower. Stop music. Scene change.]
[Scene opens in the hallway leading to the palace tower. Citan walks in from the top to see Jessie standing a few steps from the top looking towards the opposite wall of the staircase. Camera behind Citan. Citan walks up a couple steps.]
JESSIE
Listen, Hyuga. I'm going to Solaris, too.
[Camera rotate around Citan to behind him on the side.]
JESSIE
"Don't misunderstand me. It doesn't mean I'll help you.
I don't
know what you're thinking or trying to do...
But, if you take their side,
I'll kill you without a doubt. Even from the back..."
[Citan nods.]
CITAN
"Yes... I will be counting on that."
[Jessie turns away from Citan.]
JESSIE
"Heh... so discouraging..."
[Scene fade.]

[Begin music: "Shevat, the Wind is Calling"]
[Scene opens on Fei, Elly and Citan in the guest room. They take care of preparations and return to the Queen's room. Scene change.]
[Scene opens on the Queen's room with everyone there like before.]
CITAN
Are you prepped and ready?
[Let's go!]
CITAN
"Good. Then we are off."
[Citan turns to Maria.]
CITAN
"We are depending on you, Maria.
Please transport us to Solaris
on the Seibzehn."
[Maria turns to Citan and nods after a short pause.]
MARIA
"Yes! Seibzehn is ready to go any time!"
[Stop music. Scene change.]
[Scene opens in hangar 17, green-tinted as normal. Camera behind Fei who's looking away from the door. Scene cut to above the Gear personnel dock at a long distance in front of Seibzehn. A shift is heard. Pan back to above Seibzehn and rotate slightly left as the bay door below Seibzehn opens. Maria is revealed in her usual spot on Seibzehn's head.]
[Begin music: "Flight"]
[Scene cut to a light on the wall. It turns from red to green. Scene cut to in front of Maria at a distance. Pan in closer.]
MARIA
"Seibzehn, let's go!!"
[Seibzehn shudders. Scene cut to above Maria from a distance looking down as Seibzehn descends through the open bay door, beginning to accelerate. Scene change.]
[Scene opens with camera down the tunnel looking up at Seibzehn. Pan towards Seibzehn as it descends past camera. Scene change.]
[Scene opens at the exit of the tunnel looking towards the wall, not revealing the sky yet. Seibzehn accelerates from above and flies past camera. Camera pan towards Seibzehn as it exits the tunnel into the blue sky. Scene change.]
[Scene opens on sky. Camera pan to the right to closeup view of Seibzehn with Maria on the head. Camera in front, on the side at a distance.]
MARIA
"I'm coming, Solaris!
Seibzehn and I shall be the dark wings
which carry you all to your deaths!!"
[Camera pan down and rotate to look back up at Maria. Camera pan back away from Seibzehn slowly. Camera normally pan away to reveal Seibzehn is flying prostrate, not up. Pan down to the right and rotate back up to the left for an shot under Seibzehn at a distance. Camera rotate around to behind Seibzehn on the side at a great distance. Scene change.]
[Scene opens in the sky above the clouds as Solaris, the strange protruded rocket object is in view. Seibzehn is in the foreground with its jets blaring. Scene cut to bare sky as Seibzehn flies towards camera from a distance. It stops and acts like it hits something just before it gets past the camera at bottom left. Citan is seen kneeling in Seibzehn's hand.]
MARIA
"This is the... barrier!! Please, Seibzehn!!"
[Camera pan up to in front of Maria on the side at a distance.]
MARIA
"A grav field is opening! The space distortion correction is
starting!"
[Seibzehn glows red and hums. The sky turns purple. Scene cut to normal shot of sky with Seibzehn in the foreground of Solaris like before, but Solaris is closer now. An exhaust spout is heard and Seibzehn shakes. The invisible barrier glares as Seibzehn makes impact with it four times and then finally flies through. Seibzehn heads directly for Solaris. Scene change.]
[Scene opens on an upside down and backwards L shaped structure under Solaris. Seibzehn comes flying in towards the structure. Pan over towards sky as Seibzehn reaches camera. But on closer inspection, Seibzehn... not to mention the three people it holds in its hand: Fei, Elly and Citan... it's all upside down! Seibzehn hovers up (or is it down?) a couple feet. And then it places its hands out. Bart is revealed standing behind Fei. Fei, Elly and Citan jump off of Seibzehn's hand and then they land feet first on the ceiling. They turn back to the upside down Bart, who's still riding in the upside down Seibzehn's hand.]
BART
"It's dangerous to move in a big group. We'll take separate
routes."
CITAN
"Right."
[Seibzehn backs up and hovers up (down?) to reveal Rico, Hammer, Billy and Jessie standing on its shoulders as well as Maria, Emeralda and Chu-Chu on its head. Everybody's (you guessed it) upside down! Seibzehn stops when its head is level with the ceiling Fei's group is on.]
HAMMER
"Don't worry, I'm good at gathering info!"
[Rico turns to Hammer.]
RICO
"You just like to watch others' misery!! You'll just get in the
way."
[Hammer turns to Rico.]
HAMMER
"Forgive me...!! Sorry!!"
CITAN
"Maria..."
MARIA
"Yes, what is it?"
CITAN
"The disorder Seibzehn caused when breaking the gate has almost
cleared up.
You and everyone else must leave before the enemy detection
system activates again.
We will take care of the rest."
MARIA
"Okay, be careful."
[Seibzehn takes off down (or is it up?), leaving the three others there. Camera pan back a couple feet. Fei turns to Elly.]
FEI
"Seems like the world's upside down, it's creepy."
[Elly and Citan turn to Fei.]
ELLY
"Solaris' gravity is the opposite that of the land.
We don't have
time to explain, you'll get used to it.
It's uncomfortable for us on the
surface at first."
FEI
"Hey, what's this?"
ELLY
"It looks like some kind of storage or distribution center. I'm not
sure but...
... it's probably used to ship off extra supplies, materials and
fuel gathered from the surface.
These are the technology and products you
land dwellers receive from the 'Ethos'..."
[Citan assumes thinking mode, tapping his foot on the ceiling. (That's different! :P)]
CITAN
"For now, shall we gather some information..."
[Begin music: "Invasion"]
[Camera pan to the group as they begin to explore. They have only gone a little ways when Fei stops and examines a sextagon-shaped hollow tube big enough to fit people inside. Elly and Citan move to the side.]
FEI
"Is this a container from the transport system Elly was talking
about?"
[Elly looks at the container.]
ELLY
"Well... I'm not sure. But I think I've seen this before..."
FEI
"Shall we...... take a look?"
[Fei walks into the tube a short distance.]
ELLY
"What are you saying? We don't have time for that.
We have to get
out of here quickly."
[Fei turns back from the tube's entrance to Elly and Citan.]
FEI
"Didn't you say we had to gather information?
We could probably
sneak in using this thing."
[The door closes in front of Fei.]
FEI
Wha!!
[The tube starts to move. Elly and Citan run after it towards the back.]
ELLY & CITAN
Fei!!
[Camera pan with Elly and Citan as they continue to chase the tube as it goes into a similar-shaped hole in the wall. Elly and Citan stop and watch it go because they can't follow. Camera stop panning.]
ELLY
"...!!"
[Scene change.]
[Scene opens in black. The tube Fei is riding in is shown on the screen, bottom right. Pan down slowly. The tube begins to slide over to the center of the screen. It rotates to point towards camera at the center. The tube flies towards camera and then stops. Fei is riding in it, still upside down. Camera rotate around Fei so things look more normal.]
FEI
??
[Fei looks around the tube's interior.]
FEI
"Where am I now...?"
[Fei exits the tube. Scene change.]
[Scene opens on a huge case of star-like studded panels. Fei rides a hovering elevator platform away from them to reveal more just like them. A lot more. The elevator eventually lands and Fei jumps off, turning to his left. Mute music.]
VOICE
N, noooo!! Can't handle it anymore!!
[Camera pan up to the top of the star-glass shaped panels to reveal a teenage kid with some sort of mechanical droid flying towards him and then hovering over his head. Camera in front of the kid on the side at a long distance.]
KID
Something's wrong with all of you! Working like machines day after
day...
You have no will! This isn't living!! This is... is...
[The kid reacts to the droid.]
KID
Stop it! Let go!
[The droid flies away from the panel towards camera with the kid attached to its underside. Camera turn and pan with them. The kid begins to struggle greatly and then stops. Then he struggles harder. He keeps doing this. Camera pan with the kid and droid as they continue to fly over the area. The droid turns and starts fly away from the camera diagonally. Then the droid lets the kid go and drops him mercilessly.]
KID
Uaaaaaaaaaahhh!!
[Camera pan with the kid as he drops into a dark and foreboding pit. Camera pan back to Fei. Unmute music. Fei walks over to a nearby man on the deck.]
MAN
A lot of people have tried to change their IDs and escape
lately...
They usually get caught and 'rearranged', or re-educated.
Don't
you even think of trying to escape.
[Fei walks around the dock, continuing conversations with people. He walks up to another man.]
MAN
All our fates are tied together... It's malcontents like him that get
us all punished.
It kills me to think that all our work to raise our block's
rank is ruined.
[Fei keeps walking around the deck and finds another man commenting.]
MAN
What a fool... If he hadn't bucked the system, he coulda lived
peacefully.
[Fei walks onto another elevator and heads to block 13-6-1. Scene change.]
[Scene opens in another tube not unlike the one Fei used. A character like the ones in the Big Top in Aveh is in there.]
CREATURE
Argh!! Because of him I'm probably going to get
'rearranged'!!
God, if you're there... Please save me!
[Fei leaves. Scene change.]
[Scene opens on the main area. As the elevator carrying Fei docks, camera pan back to the tube he just came out of. The whole section is moved back away from the others and then up out of sight. Fei moves to the next elevator and enters block 12-3-6. Scene change.]
[Scene opens in another tube. Fei walks up to someone who looks exactly like Timothy (see Chapter 1)!]
FEI
"Ti, Timothy!?"
TIMOTHY LOOK-ALIKE
Unfortunately I'm not Timothy. The name's
Samson.
But hey, I know you!
[Fei gets in a defensive stance.]
FEI
"H, how do you know me? Who are you...?"
[Samson turns around and laughs.]
SAMSON
"From the Tournament... Unfortunately, I lost in the 1st
round.
I passed out on the way home..."
FEI
And...?
[Fei relaxes and Samson turns around.]
SAMSON
"When I came to, I found myself here.
Everyone else got what
they call 'rearranged'. It's a cross between brainwashing and amnesia.
But
they messed up on me and I can still remember."
FEI
"Then what about that last person...?"
[Samson nods.]
SAMSON
"Yep, him too. Died in vain...... One of my few friends,
too.
I'm not goin' out like that. Ya know that guard tower near us?
I'm
gonna go through it past the 2nd Class block, sneak into the naval port and kiss
Solaris goodbye."
FEI
"Can you do that?"
SAMSON
"Yeah, 'cause I got a pass. They got me working at the naval
port.
I'm only supposed to leave when it's my shift, but I 'solved' that
little snag.
Hey, why don't you come along?
With your power, we'd be
set!"
[Yeah, sure.]
SAMSON
"Right, that's the spirit!
But, be careful! A female Gebler just
came by for some reason..."
FEI
"!? Did she, have auburn hair?"
SAMSON
"Yeeaah, that's her!! What, you're friends?
Come to think of it,
she was looking for someone...
She still oughta be around here somewhere. You
oughta look for her."
[Fei leaves and continues to search the area. He goes into block 10-4-1. Scene change.]
[Scene opens in another tube. Elly's in it! Camera behind Fei on the side.]
ELLY
"Fei!?"
[Fei nearly jumps out of his shoes.]
FEI
"Elly!!"
[Elly folds her arms and looks down.]
ELLY
"Fei, you're so careless.
If you're trying to infiltrate the base,
you have to be subtle."
FEI
"Sorry... Well, where are we?"
[Elly turns around and drops her arms.]
ELLY
"We're in the 'Solaris 3rd Class F Block'.
There's around 20
blocks each with land dwellers living in them.
We Solarians are privy to all
personal info...
Everyone's DNA structure is inscribed on a molecular
level.
And even their class... You know what these citizens are called?"
[Fei shakes his head.]
FEI
No...
[Elly turns back to Fei.]
ELLY
"'Worker Bees'. It came from the shape of their housing
blocks.
These people provide the manual labor vital to the support of
Solaris' core.
I took a field trip here once long ago. I remember thinking
that their lives had nothing to do with me.
I never thought I would end up
here like this..."
[Fei assumes a defensive stance.]
FEI
"Which means, you should know your way around here, Elly."
[Elly nods.]
ELLY
"Vaguely. We need to escape first..."
[Fei stands up straight.]
FEI
"Oh yeah, where's doc?"
ELLY
"He took a different pod looking for you...
He may have ended up
in a different block."
[Fei looks down and puts his hands behind him.]
FEI
"Damn... We're all spread out."
[Elly shakes her head.]
ELLY
"I wouldn't worry about Citan. He knows this city better than I
do."
[Fei looks up.]
FEI
"I wonder if Bart and them made it OK?"
ELLY
"Jessie's with them, so they should be fine."
FEI
"I hope so..."
ELLY
"Anyway, let's move on."
[Fei nods. Elly joins him and they return to block 12-3-6. Scene change.]
[Scene opens on Samson's tube. Fei and Elly walk up to him.]
SAMSON
"So, she was on our side after all. Here, take this."
FEI
... What is it?
SAMSON
"A 2nd Class citizen work permit, just like mine.
With that, you
can move about more freely without arousing suspicion.
Well, if she's with
you, there shouldn't be any problems.
Well, I'll be at the tower
entrance."
[Item sound]
Received a work permit.
[Samson leaves. Fei and Elly watch and then follow him. Scene change.]
[Scene opens on the main area of F Block. Fei and Elly walk up to the guard at the tower entrance.]
GUARD
(... hey... It's me... me. Ready to go?)
[Samson walks in the door in his guard uniform. Scene change.]
[Scene opens inside the door. Samson has discarded the guard uniform. Camera behind Fei and Elly on the side.]
SAMSON
"From here on, it'll be better if we split up. It's a maze so be
careful."
FEI
"Yeah, you too..."
[Samson walks away.]
ELLY
"Are we really going to be okay?"
[Fei and Elly climb an elevator and go in a door. Scene change.]
[Scene opens in another section of hallway.]
FEI
"Let's take care of this and move on!"
[The duo skilfully navigates around guard droids and eventually get to the end of the maze. Scene change.]
[Scene opens in a room with a green-floored device in the center of it. Samson is there. He turns to Fei and Elly as they walk in. Camera behind Elly on the side. Samson nods.]
SAMSON
"Not bad. I think I'll let myself go on ahead!"
ELLY
"Wait! You're not a Gazel! What're you going to do?"
[Samson turns to Elly and laughs.]
SAMSON
"Not a problem. I used underground tech to re-write my ID."
ELLY
...
[Samson walks onto the green floor. A beeping is heard.]
COMPUTER
>>>ID error. Eliminate.
[The computer makes a barrier noise as five lasers shoot out of it from both sides and into Samson.]
FEI
Samson!!
SAMSON
W, wait!! Ughaaaaaahhh!
FEI
!!
[Samson is vaporized.]
[Fei reacts and then looks down.]
FEI
...
[Fei walks up to the side of the examining device.]
FEI
"Damn you!! I'm gonna destroy it!!"
ELLY
No!
[Elly runs towards Fei. As she does, Fei is knocked backwards from a punch's repercussion. The room trembles.]
FEI
Waah!!
[Elly shakes her head furiously.]
ELLY
"It's useless to do that.
You won't be able to get through without
either a 1st Class citizen ID or a military ID..."
[Fei turns to Elly.]
FEI
"Then what're we going to do...?"
[Elly looks down and folds her arms.]
ELLY
"Well, we can't just stand here...
I guess it's going to have to
be all or nothing."
FEI
"If it doesn't work out,
we'll worry about it later... is what
you're saying? Isn't that kinda sounding like Bart?"
[Elly looks up.]
ELLY
"How rude. It's not like I always go in without a plan."
[Elly walks on to the green floor. The computer beeps.]
COMPUTER
>>>1st Class citizen, Gazel, confirmed. Please pass
through in an orderly fashion.
[Fei turns to Elly.]
FEI
"We can get through!"
[Elly looks down.]
ELLY
"..."
FEI
"? What's wrong?"
[Elly turns to Fei and looks up.]
ELLY
"Huh? Uh well...
I've done so much, I'm surprised they haven't
labeled me as a traitor yet..."
[Fei looks down.]
FEI
"You think it's because they haven't reported it?
To the Gebler, it
would be like admitting failure and all."
ELLY
"I hope so..."
[Fei looks up.]
FEI
"Anyway, let's go!!"
ELLY
"Okay. Oh, stay very close to me.
That way, it shouldn't pick up
your presence."
[Fei walks right up to Elly and they walk over the floor without further incident. Scene change.]
[Scene opens on an elevator shaft. Fei and Elly ride it up. Scene change.]
[Scene opens on another room with an ID device. The duo walks over it unscathed and into the next room.]
[Scene opens on a circular room with people in it. It appears to be a control room or an observation station. A Solaris soldier next to the door notices them.]
SOLDIER
Hey! Why are you coming out of there!? Come over here!
[Elly walks over to the soldier. Fei turns and watches.]
ELLY
"I'm an Imperial Special Forces lieutenant, Elhaym Van Houten.
I
have just completed the collection of the special levy of the 3rd Class
level.
I am now in the process of taking this surface dweller back to HQ. Any
problems with that?"
SOLDIER
(G, Gebler!?)
[The soldier stops.]
SOLDIER
N, no, no problems... Please, go on.
[Elly returns to Fei. The two leave the room. Scene change.]

[Begin music: "Solaris, Eden of Heaven"]
[Scene opens on mainland Solaris. The duo enter a nearby store. Scene change.]
[Scene opens in the Solaris store. Fei and Elly find a kid near a screen playing with pogoshoes.]
KID
This 'Imperial model' is pretty nice!
ELLY
"Doesn't that say 'Impaired Model'?"
KID
Huh? Wow, it does! It must be a fake!
[Fei and Elly leave and enter a nearby house. They enter a nearby door. Scene change.]
[Scene opens on a workout station. One of the workers is none other than Big Joe.]
BIG JOE
One, two, three, four!!
[Fei and Elly leave. They take the elevator to the second floor and enter a door. Scene change.]
[Scene opens on a room with a man and a Memory Cube.]
MAN
Go ahead and save on that memory cube.
You can rest easy if you
send your data to the Central Control Bureau regularly.
I've heard they're
lying around on the ground in places for data collecting.
[The duo moves on to across the hallway. Scene change.]
[Scene opens in another Solaris living quarters. Fei and Elly walk over to a man.]
MAN
Even Solaris' advanced science can't halt aging. But they say the
powerful have overcome it...
They already have great descendants, what more
do they want? Don't you agree?
[The duo walks over to a woman.]
WOMAN
I came to see the Emperor, and strained my back... They can cure
almost anything but a bad back.
And after putting up with all that to get
tickets...
[The woman stops.]
WOMAN
Hey, you kids. Need tickets to the Dedication?
Kids like you
really should go see it!
[Please.]
[Item sound]
Received Dedication tickets.
WOMAN
Forget the money. Just hurry or you'll miss it. I'm going to watch
it on Homevision.
[Fei and Elly return to the main part of Solaris. Scene change.]
[Scene opens outside in the main part of Solaris. They walk over to find a path with a guard on it.]
GUARD
You have a ticket. Alright, go on through. Better hurry or you won't
make it in time.
[Fei and Elly move past the guard. Stop music. Scene change.]

[Begin music: "The Blue Traveler"]
[Scene opens on a park-like area in Solaris. Many citizens are there. Fei and Elly have arrived at the back. Much crowd noise is heard. Camera rotate slowly around the scene once and pan in to above and behind Fei and Elly directly. Scene change.]
[Scene opens on a dome-shaped area underneath an open-aired ceiling. Six huge ships fly up outside the ceiling and align themselves with the open-air-ceiling around the dome, one in each "section" that is divided by some sort of metal. The ships spend a few moments making themselves absolutely parallel with the dome. Camera pan in towards the dome. Scene change.]
[Scene opens on a mechanical-looking, strange-shaped structure inside the dome. A throne is lifted out from behind a metal faceplating. Emperor Cain sits in the throne. Huge cheers are heard as the emperor begins to speak. The cheers keep repeating, as they did in Aveh earlier.]
EMPEROR CAIN
My beloved children, you can be at ease. The Gazel Ministry
and I planned the destruction of the
gate long ago. The people chosen by
god... we, the Gazel, will return to god's paradise. To the
sleeping mother
god... The time for our immortality has come.
We have opened the door to
'Mahanon'... the place where god rests, the source of wisdom and power. The
surface dwellers will no doubt use this opportunity to seize its power.
However, there is no need
to be concerned... As long as Solaris has this
power...
[Scene change.]
[Scene opens in front of the smaller dome like before. Pan back to reveal the ships and the large open-aired ceiling.]
EMPEROR CAIN
Let's show stupid beasts, the Lambs, our real power.
[The crowd cheers. The sky above turns dark brown and each of the ships fires a shot as a salute, crossing each other. Fireworks explode on top of the ships. Scene change.]
[Scene opens behind Fei and Elly. Fei turns and moves quickly towards Elly.]
FEI
"Elly...? Hey, Elly!"
[Elly turns to Fei.]
ELLY
"Sorry... Did you say something?"
[Fei shakes his head.]
FEI
" 'Did I say something'? Are you okay? You're zoning.
Your mind's
not here."
[Fei looks down. Elly puts her fist on her mouth.]
ELLY
"S, sorry. I was just thinking. And this crowd's noisy."
[Elly walks up closer to the citizens.]
FEI
??
[Scene change.]
[Scene opens in front of Emperor Cain at a distance. An elevator is heard. Coming up on the left side on a one-man platform is Krelian. Camera pan to the right to in front of Krelian. The cheers begin again.]
KRELIAN
"Children of the Emperor, please open your heart."
ELLY
"Krelian!"
FEI
"Huh?"
ELLY
"That's Krelian. He's the real leader of Solaris.
He doesn't
appear in public very often. That's all I know."
FEI
"He's... the leader of Solaris?
What... Why do I feel... Something
seems familiar."
[Fade to white. Stop music.]

[Begin music: "The Treasure that Cannot be Stolen"]
[Fade in on Nisan's cathedral at the angel statues. Pan down to in front of them on the side. Scene cut to the altar below the statues. Fei appears to be there looking at his hands. Camera pan back. He drops his arms and walks down the stairs behind him. Then he stops. Scene cut to behind 'Fei' to see a man walking towards him. It is Krelian, but his hair is green. Krelian nods.]
KRELIAN
"It's been a long time, Lacan."
[Lacan nods.]
LACAN
"Krelian. You're back?"
[Krelian nods.]
KRELIAN
"I just got back last night.
You came back home to get paints,
right?
Sophia told me. Allow me to accompany you."
[Lacan shakes his head, and then nods.]
LACAN
"Is that okay?"
[Krelian nods, folds his arms, and looks down.]
KRELIAN
"Yeah. I'll leave someone else in command of my unit.
Because
of Solaris, things are a lot more dangerous these days.
Anyway, wouldn't you
feel more secure if you were with me?"
LACAN
"... Thanks."
[Krelian shakes his head and looks up. Lacan and Krelian walk slowly towards the exit. Camera pan up to reveal the stained glass skylight. Fade to white slowly. Scene change.]
[Scene fade in on Nisan near the stairs. Krelian and Lacan walk in from the front. Lacan stops at the city stairs, turns to Krelian and nods.]
LACAN
"... What did you say?
What's the name of the teacher you're
studying under?"
KRELIAN
"Melchior."
[Scene fade/switch.]
[Scene fade in on the side of the city stairs as the two walk up them. Lacan turns around near the top. Krelian stops as well. Lacan looks down with his hands on his hips.]
LACAN
"But still, why are you studying?"
[Krelian walks up past Lacan and turns back towards him.]
KRELIAN
"Sophia told me the best way to calm the heart is to read a
book...
It's a good opportunity. And it has sparked my interest in
studying."
[Krelian shakes his head and nods. Lacan turns to him.]
KRELIAN
"... Now, I'm reading 3 books a day."
[Krelian walks up the steps. Scene fade/switch.]
[Scene fades in on the area just past the steps. Krelian walks in. Lacan walks a ways past him, and then turns back. He looks at the sky and then back.]
LACAN
"If it can change, it will."
[Lacan nods.]
LACAN
"... The art of war, that's all you think about......"
[Krelian shakes his head, and then looks down.]
KRELIAN
"Hey, that's mean. You know, I'm the best of all of his
students."
[Lacan puts his hand on his forehead.]
LACAN
"I see......
That's great, it sounds like you found something to
put your heart into......"
[Krelian looks up, shakes his head and nods.]
KRELIAN
"What do you mean?"
[Lacan takes his hand down.]
KRELIAN
"You have something.
Your pictures are splendid. You should be
thankful......"
[Scene fade/switch.]
[Scene fade to a rooftop shot of Nisan. Pan to the right over Nisan and fade slowly to white. Scene change.]
[Scene opens in an underground laboratory. Lacan and Krelian are standing in front of a large bubbling tube. A strange old hermit is standing there with his face obscured. Camera in front of Krelian on the side. Krelian turns to Lacan.]
KRELIAN
"Lacan, look at this. I finally completed it.
This will save
people's lives."
[Lacan nods. Krelian turns to the hermit.]
KRELIAN
"Isn't that right, Melchior? With this even Sophia will..."
[Melchior turns to Krelian. Scene fade to white. Stop music.]

[Begin music: "The Blue Traveler"]
[Scene opens in Solaris' square again. Elly is looking at Fei, who's a couple feet in front of her on the side. Camera on Elly's side at a distance.]
ELLY
"... Fei, Fei? What's wrong with you?"
[Fei turns to Elly and shakes his head.]
FEI
"Uh, it's... nothing... But that guy, Krelian...
I feel like...
I've met him before..."
ELLY
"Do you understand? Shall I translate?"
[Fei nods.]
FEI
"Yeah, please."
[Fei turns back. Scene change.]
[Scene opens in front of Krelian (gray-haired again.)]
KRELIAN
"... The gate we control was removed by will of the
Emperor.
However, there are foolish beasts here defiling our holy land with
their feet.
These beasts destroyed the gate and want to remove the Emperor
from the throne in the confusion.
This is a grave matter, the Emperor's
throne has been polluted. We cannot rest yet.
Those imbeciles have been
caught and shackled like the dogs they are!"
[Krelian turns halfway towards the Emperor. Camera pan back and away as a platform arises in front of the Emperor's throne and splits into five separate platforms from one side of the screen to the other. Holograms appear on the platforms. The holograms of Billy, Rico, Bart, Emeralda and Chu-Chu!! The crowd murmurs. Scene change.]
[Scene opens in the square above Fei and Elly at a great distance. Fei takes a step forward.]
FEI
!?
[Elly starts to run in front of Fei to stop him.]
FEI
B, Bart!
[The citizens turn towards Fei and Elly. Elly stops Fei. Camera rotate to Elly's side.]
FEI
Ughh!
ELLY
(Don't yell!
What if they find out you're a land dweller?)
[Some of the citizens turn back, but others keep staring. The crowd noise starts again.]
FEI
(Sorry, couldn't help it. They've been caught!
Damn... Let's go! We
gotta help them......)
[Elly turns around.]
ELLY
(Wait! He's still talking...)
[Elly starts to translate.]

('To revive our progenitors, the Gazel of old...

tomorrow, these land dwellers will be disposed of in the Soylent System'.)

(Revive Gazel? Soylent System? What's that?)
[Elly turns back to Fei.]
ELLY
('Gazel' are purebreed Solaris people... the word means 1st Class
citizens.
... But, in this case, it probably means 'the Gazel
Ministry'.
Long ago the members of the Gazel Ministry lost their fleshly
bodies in order to protect the Solaris people.
I've heard the Soylent System
is an important support system for Solaris, but I don't know much
else.
Anyway, it's probably a cover for some kind of experiment...)
[Fei assumes a defensive stance and talks out loud.]
FEI
"Don't tell me what to do! I'm going! Those guys won't stop me."
[Elly shakes her head.]
ELLY
"That's why I said wait! We don't know what's going on over
there.
If we just run out there brazenly, we might just fall into the same
trap!
The palace is on alert so we need to investigate... We don't even know
where they were taken prisoners.
We still have 2 days, I'm sure there's a way
to help them. We must find it."
[Fei turns around, walks away a couple feet and puts his hands on his hips looking down.]
FEI
"How do you know we have two whole days?
What if they change their
mind and then tomorrow...
I mean, it is possible isn't it?"
[Elly looks down.]
ELLY
"Maybe... But there's nothing we can do, right?
Citan wasn't
there, which means he's probably watching the broadcast somewhere right
now.
First we must find him. He knows the layout of the central core of the
city better than I do.
So let's not do anything careless, okay?"
[Fei looks up and turns back to Elly.]
FEI
"Where is he? We need him!"
[Elly looks up and shakes her head.]
ELLY
"How should I know?"
[Fei turns around.]
FEI
"Don't be a snot. You haven't thought anything out at all!"
[Elly walks up to behind Fei.]
ELLY
"I'm just saying, we have to be careful!"
[Fei turns around.]
FEI
But!
[All the citizens turn towards Fei and Elly again.]
ELLY
What!
[A guard walks up behind Elly, stopping a few feet behind her.]
GUARD
Hey, what's going on?
[Begin music: "Fuse"]
FEI
"Look! We've been discovered!"
[Elly turns to see the guard and turns back to Fei.]
ELLY
"It's because you keep raising your voice!"
[Elly runs off immediately.]
ELLY
"This way!!"
[Fei runs after her.]
GUARD
!!
[The guard talks into his comlink.]
GUARD
... city alert!! ... two suspects located! ... Send the Security
Cubes immediately!!
[Scene change.]
[Scene opens outside the square as Fei has overtaken Elly. Camera pan with them as they run towards an edge of the city. Two pink droids stop and hover over them. Camera behind Fei.]
SECURITY CUBE 1
... you two... Please stop all action...
SECURITY CUBE 2
... suspicious persons... sighted in Arbor Plaza...
Investigating...
[Fei turns to Elly.]
FEI
"Elly, they're here!"
[Elly turns to Fei and talks fast.]
ELLY
"If those Security Cubes catch us, we're in big trouble! Fei, this
way!"
[Elly runs to the edge at the front of the camera and leaps off it!]
FEI
Elly!!
[Fei turns back to the cubes. One moves in closer.]
SECURITY CUBE 2
... Stop! Desist from moving!
[Fei backs up.]
FEI
...
[Fei turns around.]
FEI
"I'll have to jump!!"
[Fei jumps after Elly. (Albeit, his jump is a little higher! :P)]
SECURITY CUBES

[The cubes turn to each other.]
SECURITY CUBE 2
... they... escaped!?
SECURITY CUBE 1
... affirmative...
SECURITY CUBE 2
Attack!!
[Camera pan back away from the edge as the cubes rotate and fly off it, descending. A river area is revealed below. The cubes stop just above it.]

... this way!?
SECURITY CUBE 1
... suspects, escaped!! ... emergency response!
[The cubes fly into the river section. Camera pan in towards the river section. Scene change.]
[Scene opens at the base of the river section. Fei and Elly have just entered. Camera in front of Fei. Fei turns behind him to Elly.]
ELLY
"Fei, are you alright?"
[Fei nods.]
FEI
"Yeah. It was just so sudden."
[Fei turns around.]
FEI
"We gotta get moving!
Those weird robots are coming after us!"
[Elly puts her face on her fist. Fei turns around.]
FEI
"...? What's wrong, Elly?"
ELLY
"... So, this is the place... I might be able to do
something.
Anyway, let's try to run through here!!"
FEI
Yeah!!
[Fei and Elly run through the passageway while fending off the security cubes. They eventually get to a ladder and ascend it. Stop music. Scene change.]
