Chapter 48: Tears for Fears

[Black screen. A couple of unlocking snaps are heard followed by a metal hiss.]

VOICE
Fei, hang in there!

[Scene fade in on the floor of the cubed room. Fei is sitting on the floor. Camera on Fei's side. Bart and Billy stand on his opposite side. Citan stands in front of him. Fei stands up. He shakes his head.]

BART
"Fei, you're conscious? Now! Let's go!"

FEI
"............ Y... you traitor!!"

[Fei runs up directly to Citan. Camera rotate to side view. Bart and Billy run in and grab Fei from both sides.]

BART
"S, stop! Fei!"

FEI
"Don't stop, Bart!! He betrayed us! He betrayed us and Elly!"

BART
"Stop! Fei! It's your mistake!"

[Fei shakes his head three times, struggling against his friends' grip.]

FEI
"Let go! Lemme go!"

[Fei shakes his head four more times and struggles harder.]

BILLY
"Calm down, Fei!
Bart isn't lying, Citan is the one who helped us!"

FEI
"Billy!?..."

[Fei turns to Billy. Billy backs back up a few feet.]

BART
"Hmph... If Billy says it you listen..."

[Bart walks back to his original spot and turns back to Fei and Citan. He shakes his head.]

BART
"Listen very carefully!
That Limiter is implanted in our bodies.
Right now, this research facility is the only place where we can get them removed!
Citan misled Krelian and the other guys and brought us in here to remove the Limiter!"

[Fei turns to Bart and Billy.]

FEI
"What... But doc was just... Is that true?"

BART
"Yeah!"

[Bart nods. Fei turns to Citan.]

FEI
"Doc?"

[Citan nods. Fei backs up to by the others.]

CITAN
"That is not the only reason why I brought you here.
Those who want to become independent from Solaris
must know the actual situation and its true form.
Who is doing what and why."

[Scene cut to behind Bart.]

CITAN
"Ostensibly,
I received a covert order from the Emperor to contact the body
wanted by the Ministry and send the data...
and if possible bring the body back.
That was my duty. As a result, I had no choice but to deceive you. Please forgive me."

[Citan looks down.]

FEI
"I see how it is..."

CITAN
"Besides,
I myself had a matter that had to be verified in this facility..."

FEI
"For sure?"

CITAN
"I'll tell you that after we escape from here.

[Scene cut to above Fei on the side. Bart walks up between Billy and Fei.]

BART
"By the way, Citan. You did remove Fei's Limiter, didn't you?"

CITAN

BART
"Alright then. Let's get out of here!"

[Fei walks up a step.]

FEI
"Wait! What happened to Elly? Weren't you with her?"

CITAN
"Elly was taken to Krelian's research lab. It could not be stopped.
I am sorry."

FEI
"Why only Elly...?"

[Citan assumes thinking mode.]

CITAN
"I do not know...
But one thing bothers me... When Krelian took Elly,
I had a chance to acquire Elly's cellular information.
I analyzed it and found something very interesting... Excuse me, I mean... unusual.
There is no Limiter implanted in her."

BILLY
"There's no Limiter? Isn't that because Elly is from Solaris?"

CITAN
"Even Solaris citizens have a Limiter implanted when they are born.
There are exceptions for certain people like myself and Ramsus,
whose Limiters can be removed later on through the treatment such as the one I did for Bart.
But you must have permission from the Ministry to do so."

FEI
"Is that why... Elly...?"

CITAN
"There must be more to it than that. I don't know the reason,
but Krelian is so absorbed by her data."

[Scene cut to behind Citan on the side.]

BART
"I don't care what the reason is! For now,
let's help Elly and get out of here fast!"

BILLY
"You're right.
If we mess up here, I put those guys who went to help Elly's parents in danger."

[Billy walks up a step.]

BILLY
"Citan, we're going to Krelian's private research lab as planned.
We'll meet up at the rendezvous point."

FEI
"What about doc...?"

[Citan looks up and drops his arms.]

CITAN
"There is still something left to be done. I will go destroy the last gate."

[Citan walks off towards Billy and pulls out a sword with a metal twang.]

FEI
"Doc! A sword...?"

[Citan turns to Fei and looks down.]

CITAN
"... Yes. Yui gave it to me as I was leaving.
I used to use it before I met her. For a long time I vowed not to use it for killing though.
But now is not the time to contemplate morals. It is not fair for me to be the only 'innocent' one."

[Citan looks up.]

FEI
"... I see...... But..."

CITAN
"Yes?"

FEI
"You're always so mischievous, doc..."

CITAN
"It is in my nature. I am sorry, forgive me."

[Citan nods slowly. Then he walks off just off screen. Bart turns towards Citan.]

BART
"Yo! Citan! Let me handle Fei and Elly's situation!
Now that the Limiter is removed, Solaris doesn't stand a chance!"

[Bart nods. Citan turns back to Bart from just off screen.]

CITAN
"Oh, yes! By the way, young one, about the effects of removing the Limiter...
The results will not show up that quickly. Already your physical Limiters have been removed naturally.
The part I have removed is the psychological section.
That is... the subconscious fear and veneration for the Ministry and the Emperor have been removed.
Basically, you will be able to battle against them without any fears or hesitations.
It is not that you have suddenly become more powerful."

BART
"A... are you serious...?"

[The door opens off screen. Scene fade.]

[Scene opens on a passageway. Fei, Bart and Billy proceed through to the other side. Fei stops. Bart and Billy walk up to a manhole. Camera behind Bart.]

BILLY
"According to Citan,
Krelian's private laboratory should be below us."

[Billy opens the manhole slowly. Scene fade slow.]

[Scene fades in slowly on Krelian's lab. Elly is sitting on the edge of the operating table. Bart is examining Krelian's control panels. Fei is in front of and to the side of Elly. Camera above Elly's opposite front side at a distance.]

FEI
"Elly!! ...... You okay?"

ELLY
"Fei...... Yes... yes, I'm fine."

[Elly walks off the table and stands up. She shakes her head. Bart turns to them after a moment. Camera rotate in to above and in front of Bart on the side. Billy is on his right, kneeling, examining Krelian's machines, looking the opposite direction.]

BART
"Sorry to interrupt you two,
but this is not the time for a heartfelt reunion."

[Billy stands up and turns towards everyone.]

BILLY
"Quickly, this way."

[Krelian's elevator flies up fast and locks on the ceiling. Billy opens a manhole underneath where the floor was. Scene fade slow.]

[Scene opens on a large Gate generator. Jessie stands on the platform next to it, continuing to fire on it with his gun. Some bullets are being fired off in their direction as well. Citan is looking at Jessie from a slightly lower level on the platform. Camera behind Citan on the side. Jessie stops shooting and brandishes his shotgun. Citan nods, assumes thinking mode and then looks up. He continues to do this.]

JESSIE
"What took you so long!? I've only got so many bullets!
Hurry up and blow them away!"

[Citan stops. Jessie goes back to returning fire.]

CITAN
"I am sorry. I have other matters to attend to."

JESSIE
"... What the hell are you doing?"

[Citan assumes thinking mode.]

CITAN
"To His Majesty's..."

[Jessie brandishes his shotgun again. Citan goes back to his rotation of nodding, assuming thinking mode and looking up.]

JESSIE
"You mean the Emperor...? Are you sure, Hyuga...?"

[Citan stops in thinking mode. Jessie starts returning fire again.]

CITAN
"Yes. His Majesty understands the situation.
... He says to leave it up to 'them'..."

[Citan pauses.]

CITAN
"There! It is done!! Sir!!"

[Jessie stops and turns to Citan. All firing ceases.]

JESSIE
"... Yeessss! We're outta here!! ... Huh!?"

[Jessie turns back. Scene cut to behind Jessie at a short distance. Ramsus walks in the far door. Camera pan in closer to Ramsus as he walks up to the edge of the opposite platform. The generator begins a constant hum.]

RAMSUS
"Where is he...? Hyuga..."

[Citan runs up to beside Jessie with a space between them.]

CITAN
"... Kahr...?"

RAMSUS
"So... you too... you are also betraying me."

CITAN
"Kahr, we are just in different situations.
I did not mean to betray you. I decided to stick with Fei's group."

[Ramsus takes a quick step up.]

RAMSUS
"Did you say 'Fei'!?
You too... are on his side... I'll never forgive you! NEVER!"

[A pause.]

JESSIE
"Kahr, you're an enemy but why are you so attached to one kid!?
You weren't like that before!"

RAMSUS
"Shut up! I've got to get him with my own hands...
And all of you working with him are my enemies!
Enemies stealing 'my things'! Enemies! Enemies, Enemies!!"

CITAN
"K, Kahr..."

[Jessie turns to Citan.]

JESSIE
"Hey, we're going!
I don't know what went on, but I don't have time to deal with him now!"

[Citan turns to Jessie.]

CITAN
"But..."

JESSIE
"Hyuga!!"

CITAN
"... I see..."

[Citan turns back to Ramsus. Then he turns and flees. Jessie turns to Ramsus. Then he flees also. An explosion rocks the room. Pan back as the generator explodes in red flame in front of Ramsus. Pan back to full room shot.]

RAMSUS
"You, traitors!!"

[Fade to white.]

[Scene opens in another passageway. Fei, Bart, Billy and Elly are there. They proceed to the far end and find a door and enter it. Scene change. Stop music.]

[Begin music: "Fuse"]

[Scene opens in a room with all of the allies in it, including Erich and Medena! Hammer is also there. Camera above Emeralda on the side.]

EMERALDA
"Oh, that's Fei!! Fei's Kim is here!!"

[Elly turns to see Erich and Medena.]

ELLY
"Father! Mother!"

[Elly walks up to her parents and looks down. They turn to her.]

MEDENA
"Elly!!"

[Rico turns to the group.]

RICO
"You should thank Hammer!
Hammer got your parents at the right time. Right, Hammer!?"

[Rico turns to Hammer. Hammer turns to Rico.]

HAMMER
"Y, yes... Yes... exactly..."

[Elly looks up at Hammer. Medena turns to Hammer.]

ELLY
"T, thank you, Hammer."

[Erich turns around to face Hammer.]

ERICH
"We'd like to thank you, too. I never thought I'd see my daughter again...
Thank you, Hammer."

[Camera pan over to reveal Citan and Jessie, who's brandishing his shotgun.]

CITAN
"Listen everyone, we have no time to waste."

[Everyone turns to Citan. Citan turns towards Elly's group.]

CITAN
"So that we do not stand out, we should split up into two groups.
Fei, you have done a lot, but I would like to have you move on ahead and take two more members with you.
Move along southwest of here and cross two mobile contact bridges.
There you will find a hangar that will lead to the outside.
We will meet at the footbridge near there.
If you talk to the blue memory cubes you will be able to make contact with the other party members.
You can thus change which members you wish to have in your current party."

JESSIE
"I shut down alarms here and there when I was breaking gates.
But it's still dangerous. Be careful!"

ERICH
"I'll go to the hangar beforehand, and arrange a ride for us.
Solaris is in confusion now, so if I go alone I can pull some strings."

[Citan turns towards Hammer and Rico.]

CITAN
"... Okay. Please do not overdo it."

ERICH
"Yeah, I know."

[Erich turns to Elly.]

ERICH
"Elly, Medena... See you again."

[Medena turns to Erich.]

MEDENA
"Dear... Please be careful..."

[Elly turns to Erich.]

ELLY
"Father..."

[Erich leaves. Fei goes around talking to people.]

CHU-CHU
"I'm not in giant form so it leaves something chu be desired."

EMERALDA
"Fei's Kim, let's go together! Let's go!"

ELLY
"I have to get my mother and father to a safe place quickly...!"

MEDENA
"Fei, now we're in the same boat as you."

RICO
"Those morons in Solaris... Hope they've learned their lesson."

HAMMER
"H, h, hurry, run away... Yeah, run away.
Yeah, that's right!"

[Hammer does his thing again.]

HAMMER
Better make proper preparations before you flee, so...
Consider this Hammer's last closing down sale!
[Fei buys stuff.]

CITAN
"Fei, let us hurry!! They will find us here easily!"

JESSIE
"This country wasn't like this long ago... I think...
Well, maybe I was just too young."

[Fei, Bart and Billy leave the others and proceed to navigate through the maze to the end. Scene change.]

[Scene opens on a large hangar area. The rest of the group from before except for Erich is gathered around there. Fei walks around to them all.]

EMERALDA
"Exit! Exit! Exit!"

CHU-CHU
"Whew, the sky is blue..."

CITAN
"The hangar is just over there."

RICO
"All right! Almost there, Hammer!"

HAMMER
"Here I am. I came all the way..."

JESSIE
"This is the last of the last. Don't let your guard down yet!"

MEDENA
"Saying good-bye to Solaris... is hard...
This is my home no matter what..."

ELLY
"I'm so glad... everybody is safe and sound...
What about my father...?"

[The lead three continue on past the group. Scene change.]

[Scene opens on the exit to a suspension bridge, the very same one Sigurd deserted Ramsus on (see Chapter 16). Camera above and in front of Fei at a large distance. Behind him are Hammer and Elly. Medena is parallel to Fei. Rico is in front of Medena. Citan, Bart, Billy and Chu-Chu form another group at the lead. But... Hammer has a gun pointed at the group and has Elly by the hand! Fade music.]

HAMMER
"St... stop!!!"

[Camera pan in towards Hammer. Scene cut to side view of Hammer with Fei just on screen. Elly is obscured by Hammer.]

HAMMER
"I'm asking Miss Elly to return with me!!"

[Elly struggles against Hammer's grip.]

ELLY
"W... what are you doing? Hammer?"

[Elly struggles again.]

HAMMER
"Don't move! I'm serious!!"

[Fei takes a step towards Hammer. Hammer quickly jumps back with Elly still in his grasp.]

FEI
"Don't be silly! What happened? Hammer!?"

HAMMER
"I promised to a man named K... Krelian.
He won't 'change it' if Miss Elly is returned..."

[Begin music: "Tears of the Stars, Hearts of the People"]

[Scene cut to behind Hammer. Rico takes a step up.]

RICO
"Hammer!! Damn you!!!"

[Hammer backs up a step with Elly in tow.]

HAMMER
"I really don't want to do this to Miss Elly either.
Really, I like her very much. But, but I...
I... I have no other choice! Because I'm no good...
I don't have the strength like bro, or the smarts like the doc!"

[Hammer pauses.]

HAMMER
"I, I know... everyone thinks of me as some annoying handyman
who talks too much... I know that..."

[Hammer walks a step towards the group. Rico shakes his head.]

RICO
"Hammer..."

HAMMER
"I'm different from you all! I'm not special like you!
A 'normal' guy like me has no choice but to do this!!"

[Medena starts to approach Hammer. Scene cut to behind Medena on the side as she walks to in front of Hammer. Camera pan towards Hammer and up a bit. Elly turns to Hammer. Hammer jumps twice quickly and trains on Medena.]

HAMMER
"D... don't move!! Stop! Stop!"

[Elly turns to Hammer more directly.]

MEDENA
"I won't stop. Ever. ... My child is in danger...
and I'm her mother!!"

HAMMER
"... Hya..."

MEDENA
"I was born and raised in a normal family.
I'm not a soldier like my husband and daughter. I never touched a gun before,
much less have one pointed at me... That's why I'm shaking... But I can't stop it.
I'm a 'normal' mother. So there are things I must protect..."

[A pause.]

MEDENA
"Elly, slowly come here.
Don't worry. I'll protect you no matter what."

ELLY
"M... mother..."

MEDENA
"Elly, come here. It's alright."

[Elly walks slowly over to Medena.]

HAMMER
"... No! Don't move! No! No!"

MEDENA
"It's alright, Elly."

[Medena walks in front of Elly, blocking Hammer from her. Elly turns to Medena. Scene cut to behind Fei and Rico. Elly walks a step towards Fei.]

ELLY
"Fei!"

[Elly walks straight up to Fei. Hammer tries to move around Medena, but she blocks his path.]

HAMMER
"... No!! Don't go! No... no...!"

[A pause.]

HAMMER
"... Don't... Don't go... don't..."

[Scene cut to behind Elly. A shot rings out! Yellow flash. Elly turns around immediately. Fade scene to red.]

[Begin music: "Ominous"]

ELLY
"Mother!?"

[Scene cut to side view of Hammer and Medena. Medena falls to the floor face first. Hammer moves towards Medena with his gun still trained on the others and jumps.]

HAMMER
"... Hya... hya... Hya-a-a-a-a-a... a... a..."

[Hammer sheathes the gun, backs up slowly and turns away.]

HAMMER
"... Wa-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a..."

[Hammer flees. Elly runs in on the side of Medena opposite camera and turns towards camera. She kneels.]

ELLY
"Mother?"

[No response.]

ELLY
"... Mother...... mo... th... er..."

[Scene cut to above Fei on the side.]

ELLY
"M... mother..."

[Camera pull away and up from the scene. Scene fade.]

[Scene fade in on the hangar bridge as normal. A blue light beam is seen and the masked woman from Kislev (see Chapter 17) beams in. Scene cut to in front of her on the side. Another light beam, as on her side beams in none other than Grahf! Scene cut to in front of the deadly duo. Camera pan back to in front of Fei and Rico.]

GRAHF
"Leave the girl here."

[Chu-Chu turns to Grahf and the woman. Bart and Citan follow. Then Rico and Fei.]

[Begin music: "Jaws of Ice"]

FEI
"Grahf! Damn! At a time like this!"

[Scene fade. Black screen.]

FEI
"Everybody, get ready!"

[Choose party. Scene fade in at the front side of the masked woman.]

[Battle: Fei/Bart/Billy vs. Grahf/Executioner]

[Stop music. Scene fade in in front of the side of the masked woman again.]

GRAHF
"You've gotten better. ... However!!"

[A Gear's feet is seen flying over the heads of Grahf and the Executioner, and the feet turn around to face them.]

EXECUTIONER
"Oh...?"

[Scene cut to behind the Executioner on the side. Elly is now up with Fei. Erich speaks from the Gear's cockpit!]

ERICH
"I'll take care of this. Everyone, escape now!"

[A pause.]

[Begin music: "Lost and Broken Heart"]

ELLY
"Father!"

EXECUTIONER
"Hahaha... You both dote on your child..."

[A bright white, black and blue ball of energy is released from the Executioner's body, which becomes enveloped in a red aura. Suddenly, the Gear begins to malfunction and the midsection glows orange and red as if on fire! Energy waves of a reddish color flow towards the glowing center.]

ERICH
"G, gha!"

[The Gear begins to shudder violently.]

ERICH
"E... Elly... Go... now...
Elly, no matter what happens, believe in yourself and go on.
We'll be happy to help anyway we can. That's the least I can do to make it up to you...
Elly... You're Medena's daughter, my daughter, no matter what. So..."

[Scene cut to behind Elly. The Gear rocks with an explosion and black smoke flies out of it. It starts to descend past the bridge and falls out of sight. A yellow explosion is seen.]

ELLY
"Father!!!"

EXECUTIONER
"Oh, have I overdone it?
You had no time to say goodbye. But, don't worry. I'll let you meet again on the other side..."

[Elly turns in the direction the Gear fell.]

ELLY
"......... How could you do that...... to my father!"

[Elly's body becomes enveloped in a blue aura suddenly! She turns towards the duo. Camera pan in towards Grahf and Executioner.]

EXECUTIONER
"... To have that much Ether control in a non-awakened state. Impressive.
However..."

[The scene fades white with the release of Ether power from the Executioner's body.]

ELLY
"Ah-h-h-h-h-h-h-!!"

RICO
"Gha!!"

BILLY
"Wa!"

BART
"Gha-a-a!"

EMERALDA
"Wa-a-a-a-!!"

[Scene cut to above and behind Fei close up. He is the only one who does not seem to be affected.]

CHU-CHU
"Ouchuwowowhoa!"

[Fei turns around to his friends.]

FEI
"Ggh...! Elly... everyone..."

[Heartbeat sound. It repeats five more times and fades. Scene fade/switch to black. The pendant sound is heard again. Fei is in the black background. The red-haired kid stands behind him a short distance. The pendant swings and continues to sound at the height of its axis. Begin fast heartbeat sound.]

RED-HAIRED KID
Hee hee hee...
... Just keep sleeping.

[Scene fade to white. Stop heartbeat sound.]

[Scene fade in behind Fei in the hangar again. The bridge is still lit up with Ether power. Camera pan over to in front of Grahf and the Executioner, who is still firing Ether power.]

FEI
"Wa-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-!!!!"

[A high-pitched sound is heard. Scene fade to white.]

[Scene fade in on the Yggdrasil bridge. Maison is there as well as the usuals. Camera behind Sigurd at the wheel, on the side. The high-pitched repetitive alarm begins to sound. An operator turns to Sigurd.]

OPERATOR
Sir!! The Gear's moving by itself in the hangar...

[Sigurd turns to his right. The bridge begins to flash red on and off.]

SIGURD
"What? More details!"

[Scene fade to white.]

FMV 13: Transformation
[Scene opens on the Gear Hangar in the Yggdrasil, close up of Weltall. Its eyes light up and it takes some slow steps out of its docking area. It then proceeds to spread its arms, and its color changes slowly from blue to red. Its head, arms and sides change shape and size, and it morphs into a red gear with bluish wings... the same Gear that Id (see Chapter 35) was driving! It then flies out of the hangar through the ceiling, making its own exit.]
[----END FMV 13----]

[White screen. Fade in to distant shot of Solaris. Id's Gear is seen flying by in the foreground from left to right. It then flies directly for Solaris. It disappears and some large Ether shots are seen all around Solaris. Scene change.]

[Scene opens underneath Solaris. Ramsus' Wyvern is below it with its sword drawn. Camera behind Wyvern.]

RAMSUS
"Come on, come on, come on! You devil... I'll be sure to kill you this time!!"

[Scene cut to in front of Wyvern, close up. Wyvern lights up with exhaust and the sky becomes slightly purple behind him.]

RAMSUS
"That's it, that's it... Heh heh...
He came all this way, just to be killed... ugha-a-a-a-a-a-!!"

[Scene fade to white. Scene change.]

[Scene opens on the hangar bridge, but now a section is missing as if it had been ripped out like a string. Some small smolders and smokes are seen. The Executioner is still there, but Grahf is not. Krelian has taken his place. Camera above the Executioner at a great distance, on the side. Krelian looks at the Executioner.]

KRELIAN
"There he was..."

EXECUTIONER
"Yes, it's clear.
It's nothing like the half-assed stuff we've dealt with before."

[Scene cut to in front of the Executioner on the side. Krelian is looking towards the bridge now. A beam envelopes the Executioner, and the Executioner changes into Miang!]

MIANG
"I don't think he'll get off the stage easily this time.
Fei's mental energy seems to have been weakened and...
it's similar to 'the old days' now..."

[Miang turns slowly to Krelian.]

MIANG
"Ha, ha..."

[Krelian turns slowly to Miang.]

KRELIAN
"What's so amusing?"

MIANG
"His feelings haven't changed over the years.
Maybe you have mixed feelings?"

[Krelian turns back to the bridge.]

KRELIAN
"Hmph, don't be stupid.
By the way... what about Ramsus?"

MIANG
"You want him to bring her back? Too late. Kahr has left already."

KRELIAN
"I really want to say it's a waste of time... but, I guess it's alright.
He probably made it easier to control it...
Nevertheless..."

MIANG
"What?"

KRELIAN
"How can you continue to fight without a chance of winning..."

[Miang turns back towards the bridge.]

MIANG
"Isn't that what you want? Though I induced you to feel that way...
But, we're almost there. Our only actual example of success. Let's take good care of him."

KRELIAN
"What her true intentions are... I don't even know."

[Krelian pauses.]

KRELIAN
"We're going. This place will soon be gone."

[Krelian turns around and leaves. Miang turns around.]

MIANG
"I agree. We should do Kahr a favor and save him... shouldn't we?"

[Miang walks off. Scene change. Black screen.]

[A Gear in flight is heard.]

VOICE
Elly! Are you OK? Elly!

[Scene opens in Seibzehn's hand. It is flying prostrate near Solaris, which is still enveloped in Ether light. Citan, Bart and Elly are riding in Seibzehn's hand. Elly is leaning on her knees. The others turn to her. Pan back away to full shot of Seibzehn, with Maria on the head.]

CITAN
"Elly? Have you come to your senses yet?"

ELLY
"...
... Citan... Maria...?"

BART
"Yeah, we were saved when we were thrown out into the sky.
The rest of my crew were already picked up and they're in the Yggdrasil right now."

ELLY
"Oh...
...... Fei...? What about Fei?
... Is he on the Yggdrasil too?"

[Elly now notices what is happening to Solaris.]

ELLY

[Scene flash to red tint. Fade noises slowly.]

"Wa-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a!!"

[Fei bends down and puts his hands behind his head. A death scream sound is heard. Fei stands up straight. Pause several seconds. Heartbeat sound. Heartbeat sound again, and scene cut to behind Fei on the side at the same time. Heartbeat sound, and scene cut to above and front of Fei, close up. Heartbeat sound, scene cut to Fei's side, with scene now tinted blue. In rapid succession, heartbeat sounds with every following scene cut: Scene cut behind Fei at a distance, green tint. Scene cut to above and directly in front of Fei, purple tint. Scene cut to Fei's side, blue tint. Scene cut to behind Fei at a distance, green tint. Scene cut faster to above and directly in front of Fei, purple tint. Scene cut to Fei's side, blue tint. Scene cut to behind Fei at a distance, green tint. Scene cut to above and in front of Fei, purple tint. Heartbeat sound becomes constant. Flash black to a shot of the strange pendant swinging and twanging at its height of an axis. Scene cut to in front of and above Fei, purple tint. A red aura goes out from him, and Fei is replaced with Id. Scene cut to distance shot with the rest of Fei's friends in the door hangar. Id pops up immediately off the ground and his Gear breaks through the bridge directly behind him. The debris from the destruction falls slowly down in front of Id's Gear. Scene fade.]

[Begin music: "Fuse"]

[Scene opens in the hand of Seibzehn's Gear again. Elly is sitting on her knees in front of Bart and Citan still.]

ELLY
"Fei... is... Id... Don't be ridiculous!"

[Scene fade.]

FMV 14: Total Destruction
[A wall on Solaris' side explodes and Id's Gear bursts through the hole created. Then the extensions become enveloped in fire, begin to be separated from the main structure and begin to blow up. The whole city becomes enveloped in flame.]

[Scene opens on the Yggdrasil bridge, red tinted visual alarm still there. Camera above and in front of the wheel. Bart walks up to the wheel next to Maison and Sigurd. Citan follows. Elly's feet are seen just off screen.]

CITAN
"Quick! Take cover!
The Solarian based energy descending from the upper atmosphere is equivalent to a reactive weapon!"

[Scene fade.]

FMV 15: No Longer In Control
[A section of Solaris that has been blown off falls and hits the main structure's pillar. That pillar, which is holding Solaris up, is cracked in two from the impact and bursts into flame. The whole structure is now on fire and begins to fall earthbound.]

[Scene opens on the Yggdrasil bridge. Camera in front of Bart on the side. The visual alarm still rings.]

BART
"We're gonna get caught up in it!?
Yggdrasil!! Get moving!!"

FMV 16: The Fall of Solaris
[Solaris falls to the earth. When it hits the ocean, a huge atomic explosion is seen going up from the epicenter. The explosion fades everything in sight to a bright, blinding white light.]

[Scene fades in behind Elly on the Yggdrasil bridge. The alarm still goes off and the Yggdrasil rumbles at the blast. Then after a long time, it subsides and the scene returns to normal. Bart drops to his knees. Fade music.]

BART
"............... Phew...!
We made it...... somehow...!?"

[The Yggdrasil begins to shudder again as a noise increases outside of it.]

BART
"Wha, what the?"

FRANZ
"It's that red Gear...!! It's coming this way!!!!"

[The entire bridge lights up red. Bart shakes his head.]

BART
"Damn!
We're spotted!!"

[Scene cut to above Bart. Elly turns around and walks slowly to the door. She leaves. Citan turns at the sound.]

CITAN

BART
"Citan! What now? What should we do?"

[Citan turns to Bart.]

CITAN

[Citan looks down thinking.]

[Scene fade slow.]

[Scene fade in on the top of the Yggdrasil which is shuddering and smoking. Vierge stands on top of it. Camera in front of the side of Vierge at a long distance.]

"No, Elly! Return immediately!!"

ELLY
"I'm going to do this... So please, allow me to do it!"

CITAN
"It is too dangerous!"

ELLY
"I know...
But, it's just like when Fei put his life on the line to save me...
It's my turn to save Fei... As long as it helps him, I don't care what happens to me!"

[Begin music: "The Treasure that Cannot be Stolen"]

[Vierge is squared off against Id's Gear. Camera behind Id's Gear.]

ELLY

ID

[Camera pan in towards Vierge.]

ELLY

If that is what will satisfy you, then kill me. Now..."

[Vierge pulls out its rod and exposes itself on purpose. Scene cut to in front of Id's Gear on the side. The head looks up.]

"Hmph... Good girl... Now, die!"

[Camera pan back to battle shot. Id's Gear runs up to Vierge. It punches Vierge once, but Vierge grabs ahold of the shoulder of Id's Gear, disabling its movement. Id's Gear begins to struggle.]

ID
"!? Let go..."

[Elly is in some pain, as she has her hands on her head and her eyes closed, wincing.]

ELLY
"Guh... Fei... I, I won't ever let go!"

[Elly's propellers shift down a bit. She composes herself.]

ELLY
"Fei... Please, return to the real Fei!!"

[Camera pan down a bit. Vierge strikes a blow at the heart of Id's Gear.]

ID
"Errgaah!! W, what!?"

[Fade to black except for the Gears. Fade back to battle mode shot. Vierge releases a huge amount of Ether power, which subsides quickly. Elly winces again, reacting to the blasts.]

ELLY
"Uuaaahhh...
Fei! Please!!"

[Scene fade to black. Elly shoots the Ether again. Then Vierge falls down on its back. Pan in closer. Id's Gear straightens itself, and appears like its gasping for breath. Pan to Id's Gear.]

ID
"Tch...... This woman... I knew it..."

[A different voice is heard, groggy and rather depressed. It's Fei!!]

FEI
"... Uuuhhh... El... ly..."

ID
"... Damn... it... He's... awake... ning..."

[Id's Gear breaks down and falls to its back. Camera pan back quickly. Scene fade.]

[Stop music.]

[Scene opens in Zephyr's throne room in Shevat. Everyone is there, except for Fei. Citan looks down thinking.]

His disassociation did not occur at all while he lived in Lahan for those three years.

Little by little, the number of incidences of his disassociation and their length began to increase.
And then at Solaris, a complete manifestation of Id occurred."

SIGURD
"What brought it about? He was fine when he was in Lahan, right?"

[Citan taps his foot, thinking.]

"My guess is that... the appearance of Grahf affected Fei somehow.

[Scene opens in darkness. The silhouette of Weltall is seen, close up on the head. Pull back to in front of the Gear dock to reveal that Fei and Elly are in the Yggdrasil's Gear dock. Camera behind and above Elly as she faces Fei, who has his back to Weltall. Fei nods. Elly turns around when a voice is heard.]

VOICE
I thought it was about time for you to come...

[Camera rotate around to in front of Elly on the side at a short distance to reveal Citan walking up in front of Elly. Elly assumes a defensive stance.]

ELLY
"It's no use trying to stop me.
Even if it is you, if you get in my way, I have no choice but to...!!"

[Citan shakes his head.]

[Camera pan down to side view and rotate to the bottom right of the orb chamber to a one-man platform. Krelian fades in on it.]

ORB FACES

ORB FACES
Does that mean we may not make it in time...?

KRELIAN
"I wouldn't know...
You spoke of using the key. Can you be sure he can be eliminated?"

ORB FACES

"Yes. This is the place. I want you to bring her here.
She is an important woman to me."

RAMSUS
"Don't be ridiculous. Why do I have to listen to you?
If you need her, go get her yourself!"

KRELIAN
"You're quite right. But, can you say the same thing after looking at this?"

RAMSUS
"Th, this is..."

KRELIAN
"Your Gear and the Anima Relic have been aligned...
This is the Omnigear. Now, she is with Fei now."

RAMSUS
"What!?"

KRELIAN
"Losing those battles against Fei again and again...
I believe it's because of the difference in the performance of the Gears.
I think you'll be able to use 100% of its abilities.
So how about it? However, if you still fail with this, you are truly 'trash'."

RAMSUS
"..."

KRELIAN
"Ramsus, will you go?"

[A pause.]

MIANG
"Kahr, are you going?"

RAMSUS

[Scene cut to Weltall's cockpit. Fei is driving, Elly is behind him in the cockpit. Out the back window, Ramsus' Gear is seen at a distance, firing its engine. It is similar to, but not, Wyvern.]

FEI
"What kinda... Gear is that...?"

ELLY
!!

[Elly turns around to see Ramsus' Gear behind them.]

ELLY
"Omnigear!! And according to the readings...
It's clearly different from the one Bart's using or the one in Shevat...
... You think it's the!? Perfect Gear!?"

FEI
Perfect Gear...?

[Elly turns back to Fei.]

ELLY
"Remember what Citan said?
He said that the Omnigears are controlled by mental waves.
The power... the potential varies depending on the rate of synchronism.
The numbers indicate complete synchronization."

[Wyvern begins gaining ground on the cockpit quickly. Scene cut to Ramsus' cockpit as Weltall is in clearer view now. Camera above and behind Ramsus' Gear, closeup again.]

RAMSUS
"Slow, too slow!"

[Scene cut to Weltall's cockpit. Elly turns around as Ramsus' Gear is right behind Weltall now.]

ELLY
"They're catching up with us!!"

[Scene cut to Ramsus' cockpit. Weltall is even closer.]

RAMSUS
"Your performance is sad!"

[Scene fade/switch.]

[Scene fade in behind Ramsus' Gear's wings. Ramsus' Gear adjusts to the same speed as Weltall who is still flying.]

RAMSUS
"Hmph... I knew you'd be there."

FEI
"Ramsus!?"

[Ramsus' Gear makes one quick move and gets into an attack stance. Weltall continues to fly. Camera below and behind Ramsus' Gear on the side.]

RAMSUS
"Turn Lt. Elhaym over to me, Fei!"

FEI
"What!? Why do we have to turn Elly over to you...!?
Oh, I get it, it's Krelian's idea, isn't it?
I don't think so! You can't expect me to comply!"

RAMSUS
"I can take her by force, if you wish.
But then, don't ever expect to be able to hold her in your arms ever again!"

[Camera pan to in front of Weltall on the side.]

ELLY
Fei!!

[Weltall turns around to face Ramsus' Gear. They continue to fly as they face off.]

FEI
"Don't worry. I'll protect you."

[Begin music: "The Steel Giant"]

[Camera pan over to in front of Ramsus' Gear. Ramsus' Gear raises its wings and brings its hands down in front of it.]

RAMSUS
"Impressive words.
Fei, I intend to take everything away from you!!"

[----Battle mode----]

[Scene opens directly below Ramsus' Gear's head. The Gears have stopped using their thrusters.]

RAMSUS
"This is your final warning. Hand over Lt. Elhaym, now!"

[Camera pan back to behind Weltall.]

FEI
"I refuse to!"

RAMSUS
"Are you sure you want to refuse me?
It'll be too late for you to change your mind later!"

FEI
"Stop your stupid boasting!"

RAMSUS
"Humm... Well then, I'll have to show you if I'm boasting or not!
So be it. No holding back! And no holds barred!"

[Pan back to battle shot. Ramsus' Gear, Vendetta, flies in towards Weltall and hits it with a three-phase attack. It flies back. Scene cut to below Vendetta's head.]

RAMSUS
"Come on, come on! What poor form! What's wrong, Fei!?
In the presence of my 'Vendetta', your Weltall is but only an infant!"

[Camera pan back a bit and rotate to the front side of Vendetta.]

RAMSUS
"Incredible! This undeniable difference in power!
Miang! Are you watching this!?"

[Scene cut to behind Vendetta. Pan up to the left to see Weltall over the left wing.]

RAMSUS
"At this rate... And with this power, I can defeat him!"

[Scene cut to in front of Vendetta on the side.]

RAMSUS
"Hm Hm Hm Hm Hmm... Wah hah hah hah hah!"

ELLY
"... Ramsus, listen! I surrender!!
So please stop attacking us this instant!"

FEI
"What are you saying!? If you do that..."

ELLY
"It is me he wants! I can't drag you into danger just over me!"

[Ramsus takes a swing at Weltall off screen. Elly grunts.]

ELLY
"Eeeeyaaah!"

[Scene cut to Weltall's side, close up on the left side of the screen.]

ELLY
"Stop attacking! Ramsus!
If I'm what you want, then just take me!"

[Camera pan quickly over to the front side of Vendetta under its head.]

RAMSUS
"Hyah hah hah hah hah! Win! I can win! I am not the worthless one!!"

[Scene cut to Weltall's side.]

FEI
"Ramsus...!? Can't you hear us...?"

ELLY
"He's lost himself in the overwhelming power of that Gear of his...
Fei, we had better run!"

[Camera pan back to battle shot.]

RAMSUS
"It's over for you! Fei Fong Wong!"

[Pan in as Ramsus moves up to Weltall. Vendetta does the three-phased attack again. Scene cut in close to Vendetta opposite side as it brings its hands out and gathers Ether power into them. A beam flies out, brightening everything. Scene cut to Weltall on left side. The beam hits Weltall and it reels backwards. It regains itself. Pan back to original battle shot. A Gear breakdown sound is heard and Weltall begins falling towards earth!]

FEI
"Uuaaaaaahhhhhh!!"

ELLY
"Eeeeyyyaaahhhh!!"

[Elly is heard screaming.]

[Scene cut to in front of Vendetta close up.]

RAMSUS
"Nuah hah hah hah! I am not the worthless one! Hah! Uha, haah... haah
... Huh?"

[Scene cut to behind Vendetta. Pan up a bit.]

RAMSUS
"!! I've even taken out the lieutenant too...
Damn, I forgot my orders...
Hmph... Oh well... To hell with Krelian's orders..."

[Vendetta flies up and away.]

[Scene fade.]

[----End battle mode----]

[Black screen.]

[Begin music: "Lost and Broken Heart"]

FEI
"Damn... The bleeding... The bleeding won't stop...
If things don't change... At this rate Elly's not gonna make it...!"

[Scene opens on a forested area. Camera pan down towards some smoke and around a tree to reveal Weltall lying smoking and in flame on its back. Fei is slowly carrying Elly away at the back side of Weltall. A holographic figure appears in the foreground next to the tree. It is Grahf!]

ELLY
"... Uh..."

FEI
"Elly! Hang in there! Elly! I'll save you, I promise!
Elly...!!"

[Fei makes his way with Elly slowly off screen. The image of Grahf turns in their direction, and just silently watches. Scene fade.]
