Xenogears: The Complete Script [Scene fade to white.] [Begin music: "The Ship of Regret and Sleep"] [Scene fade in on the nebulous. A still of a huge flying craft, the Merkava, is shown dispersing objects to the earth.] CITAN* [The still cuts to reveal that what the Merkava is dispersing are creatures in the shape of angels.] CITAN* [The still cuts to a view of the side of the Merkava releasing angel-shaped creatures.] CITAN* [The still cuts to Merkava releasing tons of Seraph angels. Scene fade.] [Scene fade in on a picture of Weltall-2 hovering in an air dock with Fei lying on the dock in front of it. His friends led by Citan are there.] CITAN* [The still cuts to the prison room in Shevat with the triangular block. Fei stands enveloped in an aura in the center of the block. All of his friends plus Margie and Sigurd stand around it, as well as Shevat officials.] CITAN* [Citan fades out of the chair. The chair fades out. Scene fade to white.] [Scene fades in on the nebulous above the pendant's chain. Pan down to the pendant. Citan fades in on the nebulous. Zephyr fades in opposite him. Camera on the side of Citan.] CITAN ZEPHYR [Zephyr shakes her head and nods.] ZEPHYR CITAN [Zephyr walks away. Citan follows her. Camera pan around slowly to behind Citan on the side. They stop.] ZEPHYR [Citan extends his arms.] CITAN [Citan straightens. Zephyr turns to Citan and nods.] ZEPHYR [Zephyr pauses.] ZEPHYR CITAN ZEPHYR [Darken scene.] ZEPHYR [Lighten scene. Camera rotate around to behind Citan on the side slowly so that he is just barely in the foreground.] ZEPHYR [Zephyr walks away from a camera a step. A still flashes onto the nebulous in front of her of Nisan Sect members under a large group of Gears and armaments.] ZEPHYR CITAN [Zephyr turns to Citan and nods.] ZEPHYR [Scene fade to white.] FMV 24: Sophia's Sacrifice [Scene fade back in on the nebulous with the still of the Nisan Sect and its Gears still there. Zephyr shakes her head and nods.] ZEPHYR [Darken scene.] ZEPHYR [Lighten scene.] CITAN [Zephyr nods.] ZEPHYR CITAN ZEPHYR [Citan extends his arms.] CITAN [Citan straightens up. Zephyr shakes her head and nods.] ZEPHYR [Zephyr shakes her head.] ZEPHYR [Zephyr fades out. Camera rotate around to the opposite angle. Citan walks towards the still and then turns to the side slightly. He fades out. Scene fade to white.] [Scene fade in on the nebulous. Fei stands on the nebulous by himself facing the opposite direction as Citan's chair on the other side of the screen, a little higher up.] CITAN* [Citan fades out of the chair. Fei fades out. Scene fade to white. Stop music.] ----- [Scene fades in on the prison block of Shevat in the main area. Camera above the walkway on the left, looking down it. The room is completely dark, only shadows illuminate it. Scene cut to a wall. Pan up the wall to the walkway's level to see a cage. Rotate around to the side of the walkway and begin to pan to the left slowly. A carbonite block with Fei trapped in it comes into view. Inside the block, Fei seems to shift. Camera pan in closer to the block. Fade in a fast heartbeat sound. A ding is heard. Illuminate Fei. Scene change.] [Scene fade in on a blue background. Fei is walking down the center towards camera. He continues to walk. The sound of the pendant is heard, but it is not seen.] [Begin music: "The One Who is Torn Apart"] FEI [Fei walks to the side and then turns away from camera. The pendant is seen swinging from side to side in the distance in the direction he is headed.] FEI [A still of Fei and Citan in front of his workshop near Lahan shows up. A holographic image of Fei walks out of him and into the still.] FEI [The still is turned off. On the other side a still of Fei and Bart standing on the bridge of the Yggdrasil is seen. Another holographic image of Fei walks into this still.] FEI [The still turns off. A still is turned on of Rico and Fei outside a house in Kislev. Another holographic version of Fei walks from him into the still.] FEI [A still on the other side turns on of Fei and Billy in his front room at the orphanage. Another holographic image walks into this still.] FEI [The still turns off. A still of Fei and Wiseman in Shevat in front of the Queen's room is seen. A holographic image walks into this still too.] FEI [The still turns off. On the other side, a still of Grahf standing on top of his Gear shows up. Another holographic image walks into this still.] FEI [Fei stops walking. Five holographic images of Fei fade in around him and in front of him, all looking separate directions.] FEI [Scene fade to white. Fade back in. A holographic image of Elly, the way she normally looks, moves out of Fei, moves in front of him and turns to face him.] FEI [Scene fade to white.] [Scene fades in again. A holographic image of Karen fades out of Fei and overlaps on top of the image of Elly. It turns to face Fei too.] FEI [All of the images of Fei move into him. Scene fade to white. Fade back in. There is only the present Fei and the pendant. The pendant begins to glow brightly. Then it disappears. An upside down still of someone's head is seen. The still turns off and turns back on closer. The area trembles and then the still turns off. Another Fei shows up behind Fei on the side with a sunlight beam enveloping him. Fei turns to see the new Fei.] FEI [Fei walks into the beam with the other Fei, and the sitting Fei becomes holographic.] VOICE [Fei turns to the left of the screen. The red-haired kid which has been appearing periodically walks up to Fei.] FEI ID FEI ID [The Id kid walks to the other side of Fei. Camera rotate around to Fei's side as he turns to face the Id kid.] ID [The Id kid turns to Fei.] ID [The holographic image gets up and moves as the Id kid walks off away from the regular Fei. The regular Fei moves up a step.] FEI ID [The Id kid leaves with the image of Fei. Camera rotate to behind Fei.] ID [Scene flash black immediately. Stop music.] ----- [A crackling fire is heard. Scene opens next to an illuminated battleship.] [Begin music: "Bonds of Sea and Fire"] [Pan down to the right to a campfire. A scene from 500 years ago is being shown. Roni Fatima stands on the back side of the campfire. Lacan sits on logs on the side. Krelian sits opposite him, facing camera. His hair is green, indicating the time period. Another man stands in the front of the scene facing Krelian.] RONI [The fourth man walks up and sits down opposite the fire from Roni.] RONI [The fourth man, who's name is Rene, is introduced automatically. He turns towards Lacan.] RENE [Roni walks up closer to the fire and sits down.] LACAN RENE LACAN [Lacan pauses.] LACAN RENE LACAN [Roni turns to Lacan.] RONI [Roni pauses.] RONI [Lacan looks at Roni.] LACAN RONI [Roni turns to Krelian.] RONI [Krelian turns halfway towards Roni.] KRELIAN [Rene turns to Krelian.] RENE KRELIAN [Roni turns to Rene.] RONI [Lacan looks back.] LACAN [Roni stands up. He walks to the edge of the log Lacan sits on and folds his arms. He stops for a second. Then he walks up on the log and sits on air next to him. Lacan looks at Roni.] LACAN [Camera pan up and away to the left past the battleship to the starry sky. Fade music.] RONI [Scene fade to white.] [Begin music: "The Treasure that Cannot be Stolen"] [Scene fade in on Nisan on the main path. Lacan and Krelian are there. Camera behind Lacan on the side.] KRELIAN [Krelian pauses.] KRELIAN LACAN [Krelian walks up closer to Lacan and turns back to him.] KRELIAN [Stop music. Scene fade to white slow.] [Begin music: "Lost and Broken Heart"] [Scene fades in on the room of Sophia. Lacan is painting Sophia like before. Camera behind Sophia/Elly on the side.] ELLY [Elly pauses.] ELLY [Lacan stops painting and shakes his head.] LACAN [Lacan turns slightly away from Elly, raises his arm and grasps it with his wrist.] ELLY [Scene fade to white slow. Scene fade.] [Begin music: "The Ship of Regret and Sleep"] [Scene fade in on the campfire scene above and behind Lacan. Camera pan over and rotate around to in front of Krelian on the side.] KRELIAN [Krelian pauses.] KRELIAN [Fade music. Scene fade.] ----- [Begin music: "Bonds of Sea and Fire"] [Scene opens on the room of Sophia. Camera above the painting from the corner's side. Rotate over. Sophia is not there. Lacan goes from the painting over to his equipment and kneels. Camera stop rotating on Lacan's side.] KRELIAN [The door opens. Lacan gets up and walks towards the door a bit. Krelian and Roni walk in. Camera rotate to behind Lacan on the side.] LACAN [Krelian takes a step towards Lacan.] KRELIAN [Lacan looks down.] LACAN [Lacan looks up.] LACAN KRELIAN [Lacan turns around and looks down hard.] LACAN KRELIAN [Lacan looks up at the ceiling.] LACAN [Lacan turns towards the painting, brings his hands up and looks at them.] LACAN KRELIAN [Lacan drops his arms and looks at Krelian. Krelian takes another step towards Lacan.] KRELIAN [Lacan looks down hard. Krelian walks off in the other direction and faces the wall opposite Lacan.] KRELIAN [Scene fade slow.] [Scene fade in on a pair of large Nisan Gears looking up at the heads. One of the Gears is the Omnigear Elly used in Golgoda. Camera pan up and rotate to look down at the foot of the Gears. Sophia and Krelian stand there. Camera behind and above Krelian, facing Sophia's side.] KRELIAN [Camera pan back quickly to reveal Lacan standing behind Krelian. Camera pan up and away. Scene fade.] [Scene fade in on the previous scene in the room of Sophia. Camera in front of Krelian on the side. Roni walks up to behind the side of Lacan. Then he walks in front of the portrait and looks at it. He turns back to Lacan.] RONI [Lacan looks at Roni.] LACAN [Roni turns back to the portrait.] RONI [Krelian turns to Roni.] RONI [Roni turns to Lacan and folds his arms. Lacan shakes his head.] LACAN [Roni drops his arms.] RONI [Roni pauses.] RONI [Lacan shakes his head and looks down.] LACAN [Lacan pauses.] LACAN RONI [Lacan looks at Roni. Then he looks down again.] LACAN [Roni walks to behind Lacan on the side, and turns back towards him.] RONI [Lacan shakes his head and looks up normally.] LACAN [Lacan turns to Roni and then looks at the portrait.] LACAN [Camera begin to rotate left to in front of the door.] RENE [Camera pan to directly in front of the door behind Krelian. Rene and Zephyr run in and stop past the doorstep. Camera behind Krelian. Everybody turns towards them except Lacan.] RENE RONI [Zephyr shakes her head.] ZEPHYR [Lacan looks at Zephyr.] RONI RENE KRELIAN [Krelian pauses.] KRELIAN [Zephyr shakes her head and nods.] ZEPHYR [Zephyr pauses.] ZEPHYR [Lacan turns towards Zephyr but looks at Roni.] KRELIAN RENE KRELIAN [Krelian turns to Lacan. Lacan looks at Krelian.] LACAN [Darken scene slowly. Scene change.] [Scene opens on a battlefield underneath a Gear - the Omnigear Elly used (see Chapter 55). Sophia lies on her back. Lacan kneels over her. Camera above the side of Sophia.] KRELIAN [Krelian runs in and shoves Lacan out of the way. Lacan backs up, standing. Krelian turns towards Sophia and looks down at her, folding his arms.] KRELIAN [Scene cut to behind Lacan. Krelian turns to him and punches him.] KRELIAN [Krelian shakes his head.] KRELIAN [Camera pan back and away. Scene fade. Stop music.] ----- [Begin music: "The Ship of Regret and Sleep"] [Scene opens in the Yggdrasil infirmary. Sophia/Elly lies on the back bunker. Krelian stands by the bed. Roni walks in. Lacan stands at the foot of the bed with his back to another bunk and his head looking down hard. Camera behind Krelian and above him at a distance. Roni walks up to the edge of the divider and turns to Krelian.] RONI [Krelian backs up a couple steps and then walks back to his original position.] KRELIAN [Roni walks up to next to Lacan and turns to Krelian again.] RONI [Krelian turns to Roni.] KRELIAN [Roni makes room and turns towards the door. Krelian walks a few feet and stops. He repeats this process until he's out the door. Roni turns to Lacan and moves to the side a bit. Lacan doesn't budge. Roni turns and leaves. Camera pan down to normal level. Lacan walks up to Elly's bed and kneels, facing her.] LACAN [Lacan pauses.] LACAN [Lacan pauses again.] LACAN [Lacan pauses again.] LACAN SOPHIA [Lacan stands up.] LACAN [Sophia/Elly sits up on the bed on her knees.] ELLY [Elly pauses.] ELLY [Lacan shakes his head slowly.] LACAN ELLY [Lacan looks down.] ELLY [Elly pauses.] ELLY [Lacan looks up. Scene fade/switch.] [Scene fade in on the same scene behind Lacan on the side at the infirmary's door.] ELLY [Lacan shakes his head very slowly.] LACAN [Krelian fades in just outside the door, revealing that he is eavesdropping. Fade music. Darken scene. Scene fade to white.] [Scene fade in on a Gear cockpit. Krelian is piloting it. Camera behind Krelian on the side. He fires a shot out of the Gear. He repeats this and keeps repeating it.] KRELIAN [Scene fade to white slow.] [Scene fade in on the front bridge of Sophia's ship. Tint scene red. Scene change.] [Replay the first half of FMV 24 up to the point before the Solaris ship appears.] [Scene fade back in on the front of the bridge of Sophia's ship. Camera faces the hull.] [Begin music: "Tears of the Stars, Hearts of the People"] [Camera rotate to the side of the bridge. The bridge begins to smoke and shudder. A com beep is heard and a radio turns on.] KRELIAN [Scene cut to the top of the bridge. Pan up to reveal Sophia piloting the ship with the ship beginning to smolder around her. She is the only one there. Large flashes and shudders accompany the scene.] SOPHIA [Scene fade/switch. Play the next two frames of FMV 24 in which the Solarian ship trains its guns further onto Sophia's ship. Scene fade/switch.] [Scene fade in on Sophia's seat again. Smoke and fire explode around her. Scene cut to behind Sophia on the ship as the whole front becomes enveloped in orange smoke. The flashes and shudders continue.] LACAN SOPHIA LACAN [Scene cut to the third part of FMV 24. Sophia's ship takes a huge amount of damage as more Solarian guns train on it. It flies up to directly in front of the ship and accelerates.] [Scene cut back to in front of Sophia's seat.] SOPHIA [Stop music.] [Play the last part of FMV 24 in which Sophia's ship flies up directly to the Solarian ship and blows it up with a kamikaze attack.] [Scene cut to in front of Sophia's seat as everything goes bright white.] LACAN [Scene fade.] ----- [Begin music: "The Ship of Regret and Sleep"] [Scene fade in on the room of Sophia. Camera behind Lacan. He is trying to finish the portrait from memory. Scene fade.] [Scene fade in on a barren land. A Shevat agent, Rene and Zephyr stand on the ground. Camera rotate to the right to reveal Lacan, Roni and another three Shevat agents. Camera pan down and rotate to look up at the top of a hill. Krelian stands at the top, looking the other direction.] KRELIAN [Krelian pauses.] KRELIAN [Krelian continues.] KRELIAN [Scene fade to white.] [Scene fade in in front of the altar at the Nisan cathedral. Sophia stands at the top and a conglomeration of people including Roni, Lacan, Krelian, Rene and Zephyr are at the base. Sophia turns to face the people.] SOPHIA [Scene cut to opposite angle at a further distance. Fade scene to white.] [Scene fade back in on the barren ground behind Lacan with Zephyr in the foreground.] KRELIAN LACAN [Scene fade/switch. Scene fade in behind Krelian closer on the side.] KRELIAN [Krelian fades out. Scene fade/switch. Scene fade back in behind Lacan. Camera rotate up to the left and turn back towards the group as they gather around Lacan at a distance.] RONI [Roni turns to Lacan.] RONI [Everyone turns to Lacan.] LACAN [Scene fade to white slow. Scene fade.] [Scene fade in on the room of Sophia. Camera behind Lacan as he continues to try to finish the portrait. The chair is empty. He drops his brushes and looks down. He turns to the side, extends his wrist and grasps it with his other arm. Lacan fades out. Scene cut to underneath the unfinished portrait. Pan up the portrait slowly. The room glows red with a ominous sound and then the glow fades out quickly. Stop music. Scene fade.] ----- [Begin music: "The One Who is Torn Apart"] [Scene opens in Shevat at the lowest level dungeon with the huge cage. Camera in front of Lacan on the side as he enters from the door. He shakes his head and nods. He walks towards the cage, one step at a time. After three steps he shakes his head again. He extends his arms out and moves them urgently as if trying to convince something. He continues to do this.] LACAN [Scene fade/switch. Scene fade in behind Lacan, who is now kneeling. Pan up and rotate right. An image of Sophia is seen standing behind the cage. Camera stop pan behind Lacan on the right side when Sophia comes into full view. Sophia fades out, and Miang fades in. Scene fade/switch.] [Scene fade in in front of Lacan at a distance from inside the cage. Pan down and left to behind Miang. She turns towards Lacan and walks a step in his direction.] MIANG [Scene fade/switch.] [Scene fade in behind Lacan on the side. Pan down towards him. Rotate towards him and pan past Lacan. Still kneeling, he turns towards the lock. A high-pitched hum is heard and the screeen fades greenish white for a second. A holographic image of Sophia fades in just behind Miang. Miang laughs. The image of Sophia runs in front of Miang and shakes her head desperately.] MIANG [Scene fade/switch to behind and above Lacan. The screen turns greenish white with the hum again for just a second. The image of Sophia fades from sight.] MIANG [Stop music. Pan back and away. Scene fade to white.] [Scene fade in on a glacier. Snow rages all about. A small figure is seen walking on the glacier very far below camera towards a gigantic hole with light eminating from it. It's Lacan.] LACAN [Lacan walks towards the hole. It eminates long bright flashes from it. It is big enough to fit two Gears into at once. Lacan continues to walk towards it.] LACAN [Pan back and away. Scene fade to white.] LACAN [Scene fade.] ----- [Black screen. Dripping is heard from the prison block, present day.] VOICE [Scene opens above the entrance to the Shevat prison main area. Dan walks in. Camera pan down and rotate with him as he walks over to in front of the side of Fei's carbonite block. Camera stop behind Dan on the side.] DAN [Dan pauses, looking at Fei.] DAN [Camera pan in closer to Dan. He nods.] [Begin music: "June Mermaid"] DAN [Dan turns towards the camera halfway and nods.] DAN [Dan turns back towards Fei's case.] DAN VOICE DAN [Dan turns around. Scene cut to behind Fei's case. Midori has walked in and walks up to Dan. Dan turns back to Fei's case.] DAN [Dan turns to Midori and nods.] DAN [Dan turns back to Fei's case.] DAN MIDORI [Stop music. Dan turns towards Midori halfway.] DAN [A ding is heard. Fei illuminates again. Scene cut to behind Dan with Fei's case in the foreground. Fade in a fast steady heartbeat sound again. Bluish white light eminates from Fei and lights up the whole room. Dan turns to Fei's case.] DAN [Camera pan in closer to Fei's case.] FEI DAN FEI DAN [Scene fade to white.] [A sound of something breaking is heard. Scene fade.]
